ATRIP: Beatport Next Artist Stories 2026
ATRIP taught himself production by taking apart other people’s records. No mentors, no nearby peers – just a guitar, his mother’s laptop and a need to work out how everything fit together.
Avicii was the blueprint. ATRIP downloaded his tracks and rebuilt them piece by piece; his mother even made canvases of the Swedish producer. Later, Skrillex opened up sound design, while growing up in the UK brought garage, dubstep and drum & bass into view.
The London-based, German-Polish producer plays “pretty much anything that’s 4/4,” from trance and chuggy house to fast garage. The first time it felt real came while supporting Scooter in 2019 at a packed warehouse in Cologne. By 2025, he's traveled to over 20 countries to showcase his talents behind the decks, including debuts at Glastonbury and Coachella.
Part of the Beatport Next Class of 2026, ATRIP has kept the records moving. "Make You Fight" his long-teased club weapon with Chris Lake, landed with a gigantic splash on Black Book Records. "Keep It Up" with DJ BORING followed with a warmer, hands-in-the-air rush, before "Langur," pulled things somewhere more otherworldly. That run came despite a brutal setback behind the scenes: a car break-in took his laptop, hard drives and backups, leaving him to rebuild his music from nothing.
Losing the lot changed the music. ATRIP pulled back from heavy club tracks and started building something deeper and more vulnerable from the wreckage. Once that body of work is out, he says, it is back to the clubs – and back to dance music being “so silly.”
While ATRIP rebuilt from scratch, the community around him only got tighter. His pub meet-ups and WhatsApp groups have become a real extension of the project, with some fans even tattooing the six dancing figures from his mixtape artwork onto their bodies. ATRIP promises each one guest list for life.
Watch ATRIP tell his story in our latest Beatport Next Artist Stories mini-doc.
