Ma Sha: Beatport Next Stories 2025
Ma Sha has been selected for the Beatport Next Class of 2025, a spotlight that confirms her place as one of the most vital new voices in electronic music. Based in New York, she has spent the past eight years building a reputation as a producer, DJ and label founder with a singular vision for the club.
Her path began in 2017 with the launch of Kindergarten as a party series that quickly embedded itself in New York’s underground. It expanded into a monthly residency on The Lot Radio and later into a label that won Best Breakthrough at the DJ Mag North America Awards in 2022.
Alongside running the label, Ma Sha has released solo work on Steel City Dance Discs, Nervous Horizon and Rhythm Section International, while continuing to contribute to Kindergarten’s own catalogue. Her productions carry a high voltage intensity, fusing metallic percussion and restless grooves into tracks that feel both unpredictable and deeply physical.
Recognition from Beatport Next is more than a title. Since its launch in 2021, the program has championed emerging artists by giving them a global platform through homepage features, curated playlists, editorial coverage and live streams. For Ma Sha, this means her sound will reach new audiences beyond New York and Europe, placing her alongside peers like SICARIA, Grace Dahl and Slim Soledad in shaping the future direction of the dance floor.
With her inclusion in the 2025 class, Ma Sha steps further into international focus, carrying the energy of her local scene onto a global stage while continuing to cultivate community at home.
