Curation Picks: A$UKA - Liquid Ice

Prolific UKG and bass label Garage Shared recently released the very first V/A compilation to be made up entirely of Chinese artists, featuring work from LiMiT, CLV, Cury & Atonity, A$UKA and Kanetaker.

I wanted to highlight A$UKA with her track ”Liquid Ice.” Nominated as DJ Mag's Best Alternative DJ in 2021, A$UKA has gone from strength to strength with her debut Inflection EP arriving last year, combining elements of UK Bass and Trap. It received an enthusiastic response, with Apple Music featuring it on their banner and support from Tencent Music. Her footprint covers Beijing, Shenzen, Hong Kong, San Francisco, Los Angeles and more.

Her track ”Liquid Ice” gives the listener beautifully arranged soulful chords and exquisite violin strings with a heavy bassline. Everyone keep your eyes open for A$UKA!
