"Truth Be Told" marks the official collaborative debut of DJ Clent and DJ Corey, both established footwork producers in their own right. As a founder of the seminal label and collective Beatdown House, Clent is a pioneer of Chicago footwork, and his son DJ Corey has followed in his footsteps, known in the Chicago scene and beyond for his DJing, production and battle dancing.

There could be no better home for their debut album than the Alpha Pup aligned force that is Juke Bounce Werk — a collective that consistently pushes the genre forward through their events and releases. The album's title track shows a more introspective, deeper side to the duo's production while remaining true to their footwork roots.
