Curation Picks: DJ Kingdom, MC Diguinho, DJ Ws da Igrejinha, MC Tipock - ROCKET POCKET

A Baile presents WS Remixes, a new project that highlights the creative force of Belo Horizonte’s electronic music scene and its ever-evolving relationship with Brazilian funk. Formed by three DJs from Minas Gerais, the collective brings together the distinctive language of funk mineiro with influences from contemporary electronic music, revisiting DJ WS da Igrejinha’s productions across six tracks while preserving the raw, rhythmic identity at the heart of Brazilian club culture.

The project’s standout track, “ROCKET POCKET,” brings together DJ WS da Igrejinha, DJ Kingdom, MC Diguinho, and MC Tipock. The track captures A Baile’s approach by placing the power of funk’s vocals and rhythms in dialogue with contemporary electronic production, connecting different territories of Brazilian music on the dance floor. With WS Remixes, A Baile continues to expand the possibilities of funk from Minas Gerais while bringing its local sound into a broader electronic music conversation.
