Curation Picks: Pional - Todo Cambiara

Camila Alvarez
Some tracks haunt you for more than a decade.
This one unfolds like a cinematic moment: a droning intro and a steady kick, eventually joined by a snare, set the scene as someone catches another person’s gaze across a bar, moves toward them, and refuses to look back.
But it goes beyond cute flirtation. He whispers: “Su karma misterioso me hace recapacitar / Mis secretos no son pocos / Sé que hay ansias de bailar” (“Their mysterious karma makes me stop and think / My secrets are many / I know there’s an urge to dance”) making the encounter feel loaded, as though this person has awakened something dangerous, transformative, or both. “Todo cambiará / Acelera” (“Everything will change / Speed up”) feels like both a prediction and an invitation: change is already happening, so why not move toward it faster?
Once the decision is made, the track begins to brighten in the way Pional does best. Luminous pads shine over a catchy lead and a percussive groove, turning hesitation into momentum and the promise of change into something both physical and heavenly.
Pional dropped “Todo Cambiará” at Bardot during Miami Music Week in 2016, but no amount of digging could uncover it. A few months later, it resurfaced in his FADER mix. I even messaged him asking him for the track, only to learn that it was still unreleased.
My roommate and I eventually got the title of the track tattooed on our arms – as if we needed a daily reminder that everything will always change. Now, ten years later, the track has finally found its way out into the world. Everything will certainly change – except this one is now on Permanent Vacation.
