Curation Picks: Brenda, Maria Manuela, Ultrabruma - Sucio

Ultrabruma is the beloved brainchild of Bogotá duo Brenda and Maria Manuela, and they celebrate its birth with their debut EP, Sucio. The four-track record finds the pair working through the contradictions that define their home city: cold and warm, dense and luminous, never settling into one register for long. The result is club music built for the body first, but rarely without a second layer working underneath it.

Sucio moves without much regard for genre lines. Breaks sit next to dembow, UK techno structures fold into tech house, dubstep gets seasoned rather than left plain.
