Genre: Indie Dance
Label: Feines Tier

Jepe and Deckert link up on Cologne imprint Feines Tier for FNINY, a collaboration that leans into their leftfield indie roots with a lived-in, band-facing sensibility. Across the EP, guitar riffs, electric basslines, vocals, acoustic drum energy, and synth arps are pulled into a loose but intentional indie dance framework - less polished peak-time formula, more sweaty backroom, downtown-night momentum.

Inexistence” pulls the release into its most existential and theatrical corner. Built around Sister Sol’s German vocal delivery - “Ich schwitze / Du bist der Tropfen auf dem heißen Stein / Brennst mich aus, ich gehe ein” (“I’m sweating / You are the drop on the hot stone / You burn me out, I wither away”) - the track turns images of drought, thirst, and melting ice into a charged spoken-word pressure system. Lines like “Du trinkst mich, machst mich durstig zugleich” (“You drink me in, yet make me thirsty at the same time”) sharpen its strange push-pull between desire, depletion, and release.

Nodding to the oddball charm of DJ Koze’s Hildegard Knef-era vocal experiments without slipping into nostalgia, it lands as a moody, character-driven cut - weird, stylish, and full of the kind of drama that reminds you indie dance works best with a little dirt under the nails.
