On Bronka Sucks Vol. 2, Montes Claros-based artist Bronka deepens the dialogue between Brazilian funk and different strands of global electronic music. Developed during his time across multiple countries, the project emerges from direct exchanges with local producers and reflects how the volt mix evolves when it encounters other club traditions. Each track carries traces of these sonic geographies, expanding the language of funk while preserving its raw, high-energy drive.
On “Volt Mix Ácido Envolvente”, produced in Indonesia in collaboration with Dave Nunes, the groove of the volt mix meets acidic lines inspired by acid house and rave culture. The combination creates a rhythmic tension that bridges the intensity of Brazilian baile funk with structures commonly found on international dance floors, highlighting how funk can naturally intersect with contemporary electronic music scenes around the world.
