Playlist of the Week: Max Styler

Max Styler
My name is Max Styler, and I’m a producer and DJ from a small town in California called San Luis Obispo. I grew up listening to rock, disco, and new wave when I was a kid and got into electronic music when I was in high school. Fast forward a little over 10 years, and I am now 29 years old and living my dream, traveling the world, DJing, and making music.
Currently, I’m writing this after my set in Ostrava, Czech Republic, and I’ll be hopping around Europe for the summer playing a lot of new cities I’ve never been to, which I’m excited about. Over this last year, everything has been a whirlwind. 2025 has been nonstop with production, DJing, and traveling with zero time for anything else. I’m really grateful that music allows me to live this life, and touring like this is absolutely no joke, but I love it.
I’m really happy to be here today for this Beatport playlist of the week feature, showcasing new music from me and others that inspire me. This playlist touches on a few things, it's a collection of new tracks from me, my current favorites, as well as some all-time favorites of mine. It’s a mix of what you would hear from me in both a club and festival setting. You can expect to hear a range of house, indie dance, electro, and melodic style tracks. So… let’s get started!
My new collaboration with legends Chris Lorenzo and Audio Bullys. Chris and I chatted over Instagram early this year, and he sent me a few new ideas he was working on. One demo that stuck out to me was titled “To The Rave.” The vocals jumped out to me right away, and I knew I wanted to work on it. I arrived at the studio the next day after flying home from Vancouver and finalized the track with my updates. I started playing it out that following weekend, and every set after that, the reaction from crowds went bonkers. So Chris and I had a chat after a month or so of playing the song out in different cities, and we thought Black Book would be a perfect fit. I’m happy to say it’s finally out!
I heard this one recently while digging for new music to play. I haven’t had the chance to spin it yet, but I can’t wait to play it out. It’s dark, sexy, and prime for an intimate club setting. Tony Y Not has been making some fresh stuff lately, and if you haven’t heard of her yet, you will.
Don’t have much to say here other than William Kiss is the king of grooves right now. Everything he touches is on fire, and I’m usually playing a couple of his tracks in all my sets. His remix of Free My Mind is a nasty one.
I love this track; it feels very nostalgic and is built for the dance floor. It’s a peak time weapon filled with euphoria and is one of my favorites right now. Clint and Demi smashed this one.
I’m really loving this new track from Vintage off of his upcoming EP on Diynamic. It's a massive one. The repetitive 4-bar lead loop hooks you in and smacks you in the face.
I discovered Christian’s music a few years ago and have been hooked ever since. When I’m digging for music, I always make sure to check what’s new from him. He sent me his new one Give It To Me a few days ago. It’s sick and coming out soon on Pavel Petrov’s label EXE Audio. Make sure to check this one out!
Simply does it. "Ooey" is a little older now, but still goes off like it was released yesterday. It’s one of those tracks that fits into any set I’m playing and is a go-to grab for me to set the mood. The quarter note bass and that vocal get me going every time.
Here’s a new one from one of my favorite producers right now. Twisted hits a perfect blend of melodic, but is still groovy. Everything Deomid touches is nasty.
The track name says it all here: peak time acid track. Absolute destroyer and I love it.
Have to make room here for one of my all-time favorite producers. "Mokba" is one that I forgot about and recently played again in Argentina for the first time in ages. This is such a timeless weapon. The track as a whole and that arpeggiated lead feel so fresh, even being close to 15 years old.
Dino is easily one of my favorites right now. The Italian can do no wrong, and this track hits perfectly between groovy and experimental with that crazy alarm synth over the top. You can always count on Dino to come through with something very unique and forward-thinking. Tracks like this make me excited about the current state of dance music and where it’s moving.
Another one of my favorite DJ/Producers right now. Every single release from Theus Mago is always next level. I knew I wanted one from him in the playlist, and it was a hard decision to make, but I still love this one that he put out a couple of years ago on Pets. Banger.
"Let Go" is the b-side from my recent EP on Trick. I’ve been loving the resurgence of the classic M1 organ bass over the past year and wanted to put my own twist on it. Paired with Ose’s vocoded vocal, I’ll be playing this one out for a while. Much love to Patrick Topping for the support and for signing the EP!
I first heard of Alinka’s music a couple of years ago when she remixed "Addicted" by Madben on Ellum. She has such a cool rave-inspired sound that fits any club, and Heaven Knows is such a sick one. I can’t wait to play it in my upcoming sets.
OMRI. is killing it right now. His sound design, grooves, and overall production are inspiring. This new one, coming soon on Hot Creations, continues his hot streak. Loving this.
This playlist wouldn’t be complete without this record. Solomun has helped shape me as a producer and DJ and is always at the forefront of new music. His support over the past couple of years has changed a lot for me, and I’ll always be grateful for that. The tastemaker of our generation and the goat in my eyes.
Track title says it all. This one still bangs, and it’s from the early '90s. It’s such a unique club record that’s also so easy to listen to outside of a club setting. One of my favorites right now. LaTour smashed it with this one back in '91.
I had to include my boys Clüb De Combat here. They are one of the few acts I will download music from before even listening to it. Sick producers and, to no surprise, Meditate smacks. It recently dropped on PlanetX, so make sure to check this one out.
Last but not least, "Inferno." The third track off my Diynamic EP that came out earlier this year. I play this in almost every set of mine. This track really feels like a perfect combo of who I am as an artist. It’s driving, high energy, with a bit of an old school rave touch. Summer is here, and life is firing.
