Playlist of the Week: Loco Dice

Loco Dice here. I’m excited to share my Playlist of the Week after releasing my new album Purple Jam. I’m super proud of it and I can’t wait for you to hear it.
Purple Jam is a record soaked in both swag and sound design, drawing inspirations from the past, present and future of who I am as an artist. It blends hip-hop grit, the flow of house and the punch of techno all glazed with my signature of chunky rhythms, raw relentless groove and resistance to boundaries. This album speaks straight from my heart. The playlist below includes proper dance floor stuff that I enjoy playing at the moment, along with a few personal musings. Come ride with me.
Loco Dice's latest album Purple Jam is out now via Virgin. Buy it on Beatport.
Moxie Knox. This beautiful soul with that amazing voice and style were exactly what I’d been searching for. It was so much fun producing this one and I can’t wait to hear her live on this track. Be prepared for a summer anthem.
This is one of the highlights in my sets. The way Biscits works with Adina Howard's classic "Freak Like Me" is so well done.
The one with my brother Guè, one of Italy's finest rappers who pushed himself to experiment with a different beat. This G-Class anthem is a full-circle moment for me.
It's great to see young artists coming on strong with cool productions. Really Simple by young German artist Chris di Perri felt so refreshing when I heard it for the first time. Perfect for Desolat.
I'm honoured to collaborate with this amazing person and incredibly talented artist who's fan I've been since day one. Thank you, brother Sonny, for being a part of this beautiful journey of mine! The cherry on top is, of course, the phenomenal Fireboy DML that rounds up this release. Spread love!
Dutch boys Boris and Baggi are a dream team when it comes to dance floor slammers. This one on SB Recordings is huge. The whole EP!
Haftbefehl! There aren’t many German rappers who talk about things I can truly relate to. Haftbefehl is one of them. Massive talent and a friend. Chabos wissen wer der Babo ist.
I'm down to help any artist who tries to cross over from the hip hop world into the house music world. Simes is huge producer in the German hip hop scene and I love to see him evolve. This one is a real thing. You can't fake the groove.
Another full circle moment. The first time I heard and saw Martinez Brothers if felt like they were my little nephews. "Juice" contains many elements of our back to back sets: groove, fearless digs, laughs. Then there is Trinidad James with his voice and unique style. Perfect match for this track. I hope that you feel it.
Kid Simius is the man with many talents! When he asked me to do a remix for him I was down to do it right away without listening to the track. Just little background info. Enjoy!
I've know The Man since my techno beginnings. It was a blessing when he spotted me at my first gig at Circoloco in 2002. Over the years we toured and played together many times all over the world, I remixed his "Family Guy" in 2016 and today I'm honoured to have worked with Carl on "Road Runner." Fun fact: the track was named after Carl's beautiful Plymouth Road Runner that I fell in love with when I visited him in Australia.
My hip hop brother Harris. He's path reminds me of mine many years ago: from a revered German rapper to a hip hop DJ who ends up in the world of house music. What makes this release even more special is that its released on the label of our friend, wonderful Manda Moor.
Two heavyweights from different music scenes. Joseph is on fire here and delivers two great remixes. I love both, but having to chose one here, so I've decided to share the Extended Groove Remix with you.
Lonely always delivers a surprise. This banger on his own SICK MODE label is a perfect example of a modern take on old school house. Guaranteed weapon in all DJ sets.
I met Little Fritter when I was touring Australia with Fisher. Fritter gave a USB stick with his music and as it goes, it got lost somewhere in my luggage. When I discovered it I found amazing tracks that I wanted to release on my label SB Recordings. "Jump on It" was among those tracks, but it was too late. It's ok. It's properly released and we can play it out. I did however put "Watch Dat Mun" out, so be sure to peep that one as well!
A mega talent from Lima, Peru! Ya'll watch out, this kid has got a hype and rocks! This track is different from what he's known for. It's perfect for SB Recordings and my sets.
Before I lose ya.... Keep your heart and ears open, listen, vibe, play and spread love.
