Sleep D Select 10 Records from their Butter Sessions Label

Sleep D
We’ve picked 10 releases from our label’s catalogue - some more-known, and others that may have been missed. Expect everything from deep house to techno, all the way to drum and bass and ambient. We stay open-minded with the label’s output and tend not to stick to just one sound or style, preferring to go with the feeling. Here are ten releases that showcase the breadth of the label's output and the artists we work with.
Our latest record, we hope you like it!
Long time friend Nerve is a powerhouse of a producer and live musician. As heard on this release, available on cassette tape and digital, his live sets are a serious workout.
Taking wobbles to a new dimension. This record never fails to get a reaction when we play it out, awesome production from the Melbourne producer.
We used to have our studio and Butter Sessions office in the same building as RBI’s studio. A special release with out of this world visuals to accompany it. Find it on YouTube.
Probably the most versatile and varied release on Butter Sessions. Yuzu is a dear friend from Japan living in Berlin. A true selector and digger, this record is a wild masterful ride.
Our second release with DJ PGZ and first with Yikes. It’s a smash of electro and progressive sounds, a collab between so-called Australia's east and west coasts. Ouss Ouss!
Perfect Deep House from so-called Australia's West Coast. Running the label Red Ember Records since the late '90s, Ewan is a true gem of the scene down under.
Jon is also a long time friend and brilliant producer. Super polarising record, half ambient - half pounding. Specifically blown away by the distorted funk on “Now It’s Done.”
Our collaborative record with Analogue Attic Records bosses Albrecht La’Brooy after a joint live set performance in 2016. Four deep cuts born from long jams in our studio. Some of our favorite moments playing live has been with these two.
Our third release with Jennifer and this time with the help of remixes by Bambounou, tINI and ourselves. Those vocals are so good to use we even slip into our live sets occasionally.
