Playlist of the Week: Hannah Laing

Hannah Laing Beatport Playlist

Hannah Laing

Apr 1, 2025
The beloved Scottish DJ/producer and label head Hannah Laing brings us a slice of her famous doof rave energy with a choice selection of some her best hard house, trance, and techno weapons for Beatport’s Playlist of the Week.

I’ve selected these tracks because they represent the mood of my current DJ sets. The mix of hard house, trance and techno in each set creates a captivating journey, guiding the ravers through powerful highs and deeper, more euphoric moments. When I select each track, I want to build energy, maintain momentum and ignite a sense of connection on the dance floor. I played some of these at my doof weekender in Newcastle in Feb, where I played two intimate shows. The vibe was honestly unforgettable, the energy was amazing - the weekend was a dream. The playlist includes my new singles '4am In A Rave' & 'Speed Is A Deed', I had so much fun working on these tracks and the response has been crazy.

Hannah Laing - 4am In A Rave (feat. Rhys From The Sticks) [doof]

I tested this for the first time in September last year at my Warehouse Project headline. The reaction was crazy and I knew I had to get it released. I’m obsessed with how cool Rhys’ voice is!

Dj Fou, Pawloski - Donne Moi Le Tempo (Pawloski Remix) [Pawlowski & Fenrick]

I’m a huge fan of Pawloski. We played together in the Netherlands last summer, he then sent me some music that’s right up my street. I have been playing this ever since.

Hannah Laing - Speed Is A Deed [doof]

I’ll never forget the reaction when testing this at District X Festival in Ireland last year. The roar on the drop was something that will always stay with me.

Hannah Laing - Bass Boys [WUGD]

The reaction on this tune has been crazy. People have been screaming back the vocals to me at my shows. That feeling is unmatched!

MaRLo, Uberjakd- Kick Bass [Reaching Altitude]

Two powerhouse producers is a recipe for an absolute banger. Uberjakd recently released on my label and has another release coming next week! Keep an eye on him, you won’t be disappointed!

Warp Brothers - Phat Bass [Evil Twin Records]

Creamfields 2024 (watch my set here) springs to mind one of my favourite sets to date. I had a lot of Scottish support there with all their flags and this tune was a real moment.

Miss Behavin, Zanderclub, Pure Ultra - Such A Good Feelin' [Tidy Trax]

An amazing re-work of such a classic track. This gives me goosebumps and the fact it’s released on the original hard house label - Tidy Trax makes it even better. Tidy has always been my go to label for hard house as their releases are consistently great!

Kai Tracid - Tracid Theme [Tracid Digital]

I love Kai’s seamless blend of trance and acid, the crowd really don’t expect it when ever I play the track!

W&W- OIIIA OIIIA (Spinning Cat) [Rave Culture]

I haven’t actually played this track yet but I can’t stop listening to it. I have my biggest ever Manchester headline this weekend and I can’t wait to try it out. The psy-trance bassline is incredible.

Bryan Kearney, Mix Factory - Take Me Away [All Around The World]

I first heard this during lockdown. Bryan used to do livestreams from his home to keep everyone entertained and I was hooked as soon as I heard it.
