“To celebrate my Global Underground album, 'GU47: Montreal,' I have selected 20 tracks (and written about 10 of them) that reflect the two-part mix and my DJing style, which spans the genres. The selection I’ve put together here includes tracks that many people might not expect to hear me play in my usual DJ sets…” — Joseph Capriati

I’m head over heels for this track that came out last February on Global Underground as a new single taken from the GU47: Montreal Global Underground Compilation. I have played it so many times in the last months, and it’s a proper Techno banger track - very obscure and hypnotic but a dance floor-driving gear at the same time. I’ve been glad to see the reaction of the crowd every time I played this track, whether it was during a club session or a big room techno festival. The vibe and effects were the same: “Massive.”
It has been a while since I started collecting OMRI.’s works. This guy is a very eclectic producer, and he has a unique style. Nowadays, it’s not easy to find someone so original in terms of productions, and OMRI. really captured my attention because of this. I love this track specifically because I can play it anywhere; it’s a mix of disco-boogie, house, and electronic. A sexy and groovy weapon.
Well, Blackchild, at the moment, is one of the greatest producers in the scene. When I put this record on, the crowd goes crazy, and a big wave of positive vibes spreads everywhere. It’s funky, disco, and old-fashioned but fresh and brand new at the same time. You can hear it; there’s a proper background. Blackchild comes from the same area as me, which is Napoli. The electronic movement there is very strong and historical; it’s definitely made of house music but not limited to that.
What can I say? These two legends, Loco Dice and Carl Cox, have brought pure underground energy with this new collab. It’s the perfect match between a solid tech house tune and a bouncing minimal techno track.
Kettama is literally a brilliant producer; each release tells a story, and with this one, he has made techno and house breathe and pump in unison. This is the perfect example of how a human brain can fuse several genres together and create a special dance floor peak-time track.
I’m very proud of this remix I did last year for Sandy Rivera, an artist who has inspired me greatly since the early days of my journey into DJing. I used to play his successful record 'Changes' back in 2002, so when I got the chance to remix "I Can’t Stop," I immediately felt connected to the roots and put all my groovy influences into this project. It’s a feel-good remix to keep the people going on and on.
I really appreciate this piece of work from the Italian producer Dukwa. It’s an explosion of energy, shaped in electro steps and broken arpeggios. This is, for sure, one of the finest tracks released on Laurent Garnier’s label, COD3QR.
I love this tune; it has recently become a must in my selection. It’s a special mixture of jazzy vibes in classic Lil’ Louis style and stretchy drums. Those piano upbeat stabs are the real engine driving the crowd up the whole time.
My mentor, the man who enlightened me, and one of the first to believe in me as an artist. Rino has been and still is one of the most important influences and inspirations of my DJ/producer career. He passed away a few months ago, and since then, I went back to dig in my old archives, and I’m re-discovering a huge collection of tracks that Rino made in the past. I have to say, this track blows my mind every time I play it. It’s a proper techno anthem released in 2001, but honestly, this is music that hasn't been created yet.
This is a breath of fresh air that only Oscar Mulero can give to a Technoid like me. This track is so shady, driving, and goes straight to the point. I can’t imagine a Techno session of mine without a pure gem like this.
