Playlist of the Week: Young Franco

Brisbane native Young Franco is well and truly establishing himself as one of Australia's most phenomenal DJ/producers.
Following a string of sold-out headline shows and performances that took him to stages all across the US, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand in 2024, the artist has launched headlong into the new year with the arrival of his debut album, it's Franky baby! — out now via Neon Records/Universal Music.
To celebrate the arrival of this debut album, Beatport tapped Young Franco to zero in on some of his most trusted dance floor groovers for our Playlist of the Week series. Check out his selects below!
I’m excited to present a selection of some of my favourite tracks and ones I have just discovered and am listening to. It’s a mixture of music from talented friends, musicians I am inspired by and excited to hear more of and new discoveries I am always looking out for along with a few new tracks from my new album ‘it’s Franky baby!' – it’s a celebration of everything Franky baby!. Enjoy! — Young Franco
This track is an absolute powerhouse. Sammy Virji and Interplanetary Criminal deliver pure energy with "Damager" —the bassline is heavy, the groove is infectious, and it’s impossible not to move. It’s a certified weapon for any dance floor.
Osmosis Jones is a homie and one to watch in Aus. He has nailed the raw, stripped-back groove with this one. "Ooh Yeah - Ruff N Ready Dub" has that classic dub vibe, perfectly crafted for setting the mood while keeping the energy simmering. I can't wait to catch his set on my Aus tour!
IsGwan is another homie of mine, and I'm a big fan of Denham Audio, so it goes without saying that I'm going to love this remix. Its a masterpiece.
p-rallel is quickly becoming a UK legend and I can’t wait to bring him out to Aus for my tour. His remix of "Loving You" is smooth, lush, and effortlessly dreamy. It’s got this perfect balance of laid-back vibes and rhythmic energy, making it ideal for winding down or vibing out.
Champion is one of my favourite producers. This track delivers the goods. The bassline is chunky, the rhythm is tight, and the vocal chops are just the right touch — it’s one of those tracks that commands the room.
1tbsp has been crushing it in Aus and now touring the world. "Oh No" by 1tbsp is a super creative, left-field gem. It’s playful yet intricate, with a rhythm that keeps you on your toes. It’s got a unique vibe that stands out in any set.
I've always had a lot of love for piri and all the records she puts out. We worked together while I was in London. I was really inspired by all the UK garage sounds that I was listening to at the time, going out to shows... piri is an amazing writer, and we smashed this out in a day, and MC DT put his signature lines on it to tie it all together.
I’ve been a huge fan of Kah-Lo forever. I think she’s one of the most talented artists out there. We met when she was touring in Australia. I think summer in Australia is always an amazing time; the weather is usually pretty great, so everyone’s feeling really good. I think that’s why the song came so quickly.
p-rallel was in Sydney for about 48 hours back in December. I'm a huge fan of his Forward EP, especially the track with Jords. I hit him up, and we worked from my place for a couple of hours and came up with this record. Summer in Australia is a bit of a special place to be... "Sing it Back" is a classic tune and just feels like Aus summer, so it came together really nicely. When I flew over to LA in March, Dana and I had a session to do the vocals and banged it out in 30 mins. The rest is history!
Such a feel-good French house track. I’m a huge, huge fan of Laurence Guy. Amazing!
