The fast-paced and hotly-tipped Portuguese techno act BIIA brings us a rollicking collection of disruptive and influential techno tracks for Beatport's Playlist of the Week.

I’m BIIA, a techno DJ/producer, and I am obsessed with collecting musical gems. Digging music and sharing it with the crowd is one of the greatest pleasures of my job. The anticipation of seeing if they will enjoy those tracks as much as I do is an exciting process.

For my Playlist of the Week for Beatport, I kick things off with three of my own tracks that are near and dear to my heart, along with additional tunes that I've been playing a lot recently, a few that are always on my USB, some timeless classics and tracks from producers I've just started following and discovering as of late. Enjoy!

Check out BIIA's 'Playlist of the Week' on Beatport.
BIIA - Don’t Get Lost In Heaven [Taapion]

This is my best-known track and the one people most associate with me the most. I love the trancy vibe that keeps the energy high, and this melody gives me goosebumps every time I play it. It's a very emotional track that really characterizes my style.

BIIA - Fantasies Excursion [BIIA]

This track has a nostalgic melody, which teleports me to a certain time and place with its more wistful sound.

BIIA - Eros N Agape [Taapion]

I love playing this track when I'm asked to play one more track at the end of my set, because it gives me a feeling of freedom, youth, and detachment. And there are many twisted moments throughout the track that make the crowd go wild.

SveTec, Golpe - Let Me Show You Something [Mad Made]

I love the productions of SveTec and I play them a lot, including a lot of schranz. For me, he is one of the fathers of the harder techno sound, and this one is a more classic and tasteful hard techno track. I love the dry kick on the break that surprises the crowd. A good twist or an unexpected moment in a track is super fun.

Funk Tribu - Drummers [TELETECH]

I really like the project of Funk Tribu. I have this track for a while but I've been playing it more lately and the drums of this are everything, as the name suggests. It’s an amazing and pounding bomb that gets the crowd dancing hard on the drop.

Claas Herrmann - Comfort [Green Fetish Records]

I like to play this one as a transition track because it doesn't have long breaks, and it always keeps the energy high and fluid with a lot of groove. If I play a track with a bigger, more pronounced drop before, and I like the next track to be simpler.

Sub Terra - Sauron [Sacred Court]

This one is for darker ravers. I also use it as a simpler track with a stronger kick to play between tracks with more striking melodies. I love how the drums are simple yet strong.

Vaent - Racid [Techno Germany Records]

This is a banger that I always have up my sleeve when I need to pump up the crowd a bit. I've been playing it for a while and it never fails. A slamming acid melody and a break with a powerful build-up.

SWART - Fractal Echoes [VAUGE]

SWART has some phenomenal productions, but this one is my favorite track of his. The melody has a '90s feeling and the raw, dry drop is a surprising moment.

Frankie Watch - Salomonis [REVHERTZ]

Frankie Watch has a really distinctive style as an artist, and I love charismatic music that incriminates the producer and is different from everything. It has a lot of trippy sounds, which fascinate me.

Ueberrest - The Heat [44 LABEL GROUP]

The sounds that Ueberrest uses on the melodies are always catching. This one is super fun and groovy. The reaction of the crowd to this is always enthusiastic with a smile.

Underworld - Born Slippy Nuxx [UMC]

I love incorporating classic and timeless music into my sets and this one is one of my favorites of all time because it's a cry for freedom. I love '90s techno, and this melody is a journey of joy.

Jeff Mills - The Bells [Axis Records]

"The Bells" is one of the most iconic techno tracks ever recorded. It has a two-part arrangement, simple but amazing with a lot of energy.

Jones & Stephenson - The First Rebirth [Bonzai Classics]

This beat transports us and leads us on a very nostalgic journey. It’s a great example of using a slow original and speeding it up, but it's not noticeable.
