Canadian trance music luminary TDJ serves up some vivacious and sentimental dance floor tunes for Beatport’s Playlist of the Week.

Hi, this is TDJ! I’m writing this from a cute coffee place in Shanghai. It definitely feels surreal! I’ve been touring for almost one year non-stop, and it’s far from over!! I have so much coming up this year. It’s super exciting and inspiring, as I’m also in the process of writing my first album. I’m busier than ever, 4ever. But I’m really proud that all this hard work results in the creation of a new community that revolves around a common love for trance music and the need to create a unique emotional journey. I hope to see you somewhere in the world sometime!

TDJ – Levitate [Collection Disques Durs]

This is one of my favorite songs I made. I think it sounds well-balanced in terms of production and emotions conveyed. For someone who doesn’t know my sound at all, this could be a good introduction.

George Acosta, Fisher – True Love (Billy Gillies Extended Remix) [Black Hole Recordings]

I never get tired of playing and listening to this song. I played it in my Boiler Room’s set last year and it literally gives me chills to think about this special moment.

TDJ, MRD – Run Away [Collection Disques Durs]

I love making music with my friend MRD. This one is from my last compilation SPF INFINI. We always come up so quickly with ideas, whether we’re working together or remotely. It really just makes me smile to think of these moments we share making music.

Re:Locate, Menno de Jong – Spirit (Paul Miller 2008 Rework) [Armada Music]

I feel such a deep connection with this track. I always get the chills. I played it a lot in my sets over the last year, and it always brings out so much happiness in the crowd.

TDJ – Come Back Home [Higher Ground]

It’s my most recent release. It came out a bit more than a week or two ago. It’s a special one, for sure. I do feel far away from home at the moment. I’m in Shanghai right now writing this, having a blast, but it’s definitely a special feeling to think about the amount of time I spend away from home.

Mass Medium – Mindblower (Original Mix) [Armada Music]

A classic track I love to play, it sounds like the definition of having fun at a party.

TDJ – Lalala (Want Somebody) (Paul Seul Remix) [Collection Disques Durs]

This song is fundamental to my project. This fast-paced remix by Paul Seul is my favorite to play out in clubs.

David Guetta, Chris Willis – Love Is Gone (Fred Rister & Joachim Garraud Remix) [Ultra]

It’s a bit of a guilty pleasure, and I love surprising the crowd with this one. I play it at a quite faster BPM and it’s always a fun time. It’s funny how I often receive ID messages for this one.

TDJ – All I Want For Christmas Is An Acoustic Guitar (1-2-3-4) [Casual Gabberz Records]

This is one of the songs I released on my friends’ label Casual Gabberz. I actually released my first TDJ song under the name ‘Terrain De Jeux’ on their 2019 Christmas Compilation. This song is on the 2021 one.

One of my favorite trance tracks ever.
