Playlist of the Week: La Fleur

La Fleur Playlist of the Week
La Fleur
Oct 23, 2024
Following the arrival of her debut album, Swedish electronic music mainstay La Fleur hands over some of her best and brightest dance floor chargers for Beatport's Playlist of the Week.

As a selector at heart it’s a pleasure to share some musical gems with you. My debut album, Väsen, is about energy, love, and relationships, the essence of life, and so is this playlist.

This playlist contains tracks that currently sit deep and permanent in my own DJ sets and reflect my current emotions. It’s a blend and mix of tracks representing different vibes, atmospheres and character. Something for every dance floor, as I like to play eclectic sets moving between house and techno, and some bits in between. It also embodies some of my own personal favourites from my album that just was released through [PIAS] Électronique

La Fleur - Your Move [PIAS Electronique]
One of my favourite tracks to play out during shows. There’s a certain energy to it that elevates the dance floors and keeps ravers’ feet stuck to the vibrating floor. It works at peak-time, for mid-set fillers and initial pump.
Spencer Parker - Menery Energy [Work Them Records]
Such a groover! It's deep and energetic, with feel-good pumping vibes, and I love the vocal. It fits really well into my sets, and I'm always looking forward to playing it. Whenever the bass kicks in after the break, it’s just special.
Matisa - PUSH [Future Classic]
I’ve followed Matisa for a while, and I’ve admired the steps she’s taken musically. This is quite a quirky track with a repetitive vocal that takes the atmosphere and energy to an incredible level.
Michael Cignarale - Out of Control (Full 12 Mix) [Medusa Realness]
I played this track at fabric in London a few weeks ago, and it was one of the best moments during the night. The piano together with the vocal part really transcends and takes me back to early dance floors. I’m already excited to play this track out again.
Alinka - Eternal Groove [Permanent Vacation]
I’ve always cherished the moments I’ve met Alinka, be it in Berlin, my previous home for many years, or on tour over the years. She is a great producer and I have always played her music, including this acidy groover she released on Permanent Vacation. I’m honoured and happy to say that she’s going to do a remix of one of my album tracks. Stay tuned!
La Fleur - Free My Mind [PIAS Electronique]
Some people would call this a "bad" tune (in a good way). It’s a naughty tune with an expressive smirk — if we metaphorically could say songs could have that. It’s just a hard-hitting slammer of a track with a gritty bassline rejuvenating ravers as they’d might slow down from a long night of dancing. This gets them back up.
Genius Of Time - Closer [Aniara Recordings]
Fellow Swedes and music wizards, Genius Of Time. I’ve been a fan of them since the moment they appeared on the scene. Aniara Recordings are also one of my favourite Swedish boutique labels and have been around for as long as my own imprint Power Plant. This track has a repetitive vocal hook that feels uplifting and sad at the same time. It makes me want to be close to someone.
Jamie Unknown - The Get Down [Part 4]
One of my peak-time DJ set favourites at the moment. The fast BPM, the vocal stutters that remind me of the early days, the piano riff in the break and the tech-housey groove make it a track worth playing at most scenes regardless of setting.
Peder Mannerfelt - Flash My Flip Phone [Peder Mannerfelt Produktion]
Love this quirky track. This is a gem when I want to speed things up throughout my set and give people something they probably didn’t expect. This tune can do just that. The phone signal sped up and just had my attention when I first heard it. I always get a lot of eyes and bass-faces whenever it drops.
La Fleur - All I Ever Wanted [PIAS Electronique]
This one is obviously quite special to me. It’s the last single off my album and it features my own vocals. It’s about acceptance of how our path and our desires change.
