Playlist of the Week: Joy (Anonymous)
The skyrocketing British electronic duo Joy (Anonymous) celebrate the arrival of their new 'Joyous People (South East Corner)' EP with fifteen fiery track selections for Beatport's Playlist of the Week.
We are real geeks when it comes to music playlists and selecting sounds as we play — such a mix of sets. This year alone, we’ve played five hours on the Southbank, where we started out as JOY (Anonymous), sat in a lake and waterfall at sunset in Portugal, 50k-sized raves in Australia, Junction 2, and then at our local pub, The Swan, on a sunny afternoon. This means a lot of different audiences of all ages and all musical tastes, and we really try to think about what they want and curate a show that feels right for the moment.
The below includes a lot of those tracks we’ve played out across the last year and beyond — all by producers we really respect and many that inspire our own music.
Joy (Anonymous)'s new Joyous People (South East Corner) EP is out now via Universal-Island Records. Buy it on Beatport.

Joy (Anonymous), Sammy Virji - JOY (By My Side) [Universal-Island Records]
Our latest track with the incredible Sammy Virji! We first played this one out at our Shangrila takeover at Glastonbury 2024.
Duskus - Moss [Method 808]
Simon (aka Duskus) is a good friend of ours. We are big fans of his distinctive sound, and we’ve loved working with him recently on our track "Glow" with Four Tet, Skrillex, and Fred again..
Av Av Av - Pigeons [The Bank Music]
We discovered these guys when they were playing for Solen in Sydney.
Tom Everett - Every Little Beat [Tom Everett]
Tom is my local barista, and he airdropped me this track. We played it at the Southbank when he came down and now it’s out on Beatport!
Pearson Sound - Hornet [Hessle Audio]
Pearson Sound makes such interesting sonics, as you can hear on this track, "Hornet." We’ve always loved Hessle Audio, so it was an honour to have him mix our latest EP.
Skyhigh - All You Got [Garage Shared]
This track has never not gone off in our sets when in the heat of battle.
Junior Simba - KMT [Part 4]
We first hung out with Junior Simba in Leeds and ended up playing a spontaneous house party after we supported The Streets. We’ve been mates ever since and love his productions.
ATRIP - Junction 3 [ATRIP]
We’ve been playing this one since our Australia gigs in February of this year, and at the big raves, it absolutely kicked off.
Main Phase - Grindin [Pure Groove / Locked On]
This killer track from Main Phase comes at us via Locked On — a classic garage label that has inspired much of our sound.
Groovy D - Clocked [Hot Haus Recs]
Classic 2-step business with this one!
Prozak - Styla [INSTINCT UK]
This tune presents such a great combination of bassline, breakbeat, and UK sounds.
Lil' Louis, Basement Jaxx - One More Chance [XL Recordings]
Basement Jaxx is the ultimate electronic band for us, and they never cease to surprise us when we find tracks we haven’t heard before.
Todd Edwards - Shut The Door [4 To The Floor Records]
Todd is the God, and we thank him for everything he’s done in all our lives. Amen.
TC4 - Guacamole [Safebro]
We played b2b with salute at midnight Saturday on the Arcadia stage at Glastonbury this year, and this track was an absolute highlight.
Andrés - Just A Player [Moods & Grooves Records]
This is the ultimate Southbank roller. Great last song of the night.
