Our expert curation team brings you the best tracks on Beatport you may have missed. This time featuring Luke Hess, Mike Parker, Rambadu, Jiman, Felix Leifur and more.
Luke Hess, Harrison – Upwelling [Echocord Colour]
Channeling Mike Huckaby and Deepchord, we have an excellent collaboration here from Luke Hess and Harrison. Fathoms deep dub chords reverberate out while a solid bassline keeps time. We’re coming up on autumn and winter here in the northern hemisphere and the sounds found in this track certainly fit the chilly climes.
Mike Parker – Kinetic Statues [Kynant Records]
Classy stuff from the one and only Mike Parker. A undulating, hypnotic synth line bobs and weaves its way around the steady, cold pulse of the drums and percussion while pads and atmospheres are gently introduced. Definitely one for a heads-down moment.
Felix Leifur – Vantar Borvel [Lagaffe Tales]
We have pretty much loved everything Felix has put out so far and this track (and EP) hasn’t changed that. Seriously uneasy techno here that has elements of Oni Ayhun and Objekt. Snarling basslines, intricate percussion and weird-out synth flourishes abound, this is some extremely good stuff.
Jiman – Escape [30D ExoPlanets]
Top experimental techno from Jiman in the form of “Escape”. With heavy reverberation, a pitch-black sound palette and broken rhythm structures, this is one for the more open minded crowd. Great for creating a dark atmosphere.
Remco Beekwilder – Nachtvlinder [EMERALD]
A more melodic affair than the previous offerings, Remco Beekwilder serves up a non-stop journey. The relentless drums and bass hold down the fort while a star-gazing synth dances over the top. Lovely stuff.
Jeremy P Caulfield – Grading [Dumb Unit]
Caulfield serves up some deep, tunnelling techno in the form of “Grading” for his own Dumb Unit label. Huge kicks, bass swells and pitched down percussion are the name of the game here. Evoking a very dark mood, this is one for the small hours of the night.
Rambadu – Alaya [Hypnus Records]
Another killer journey from the masters of hypnotic techno, Hypnus. Rambadu takes us out for a voyage through reverberating synth stabs, bottomless bass and perfectly clicky percussion. Close your eyes and get lost in the signature sound of the label!
