Playlist of the Week: Solardo
Solardo
Sept 1, 2021
Manchester duo Solardo dig into some of their favourite dance floor belters for Beatport’s Playlist of the Week.
We recently released our new single “Power” with Maur, and in celebration of the release, Beatportal asked us to put together a collection of tracks that we’ve been loving recently. Some of these you will find us playing in our live sets, some of our new favourites on our label Sola, and unforgettable classics. There are some absolute belters here, and hopefully, these will connect with you the same way they did for us!

Solardo x Maur – Power [Ultra]
We’ve teamed up with Maur on our new single, “Power.” They’re two incredible producers, who we’ve recently signed to our label Sola so we felt it only be right we come together and collaborate on a tune. No pun intended, we wanted to make something powerful, and that would work for the clubs & festivals, and we’re buzzing with the outcome.
Paul Johnson – Get Get Down [Moody Recordings]
This one needs no introduction. With the passing of an absolute pioneer, legend, and one of our favourite producers, this one has been on repeat in our sets of late and has been smashing it everywhere.
Radio Slave – Stay Out All Night Long [Rekids]
We’ve been using this as an intro track to a lot of our sets recently, especially at festivals. It really sets the tone with the old-skool breakbeat vibe. Love it.
Angelo Ferreri – Can’t Stop Crying (Brokenears Extended Remix) [House’ n’ Chips]
This track is huge. The vocal is so catchy you can’t not like it! Angelo Ferreri is a jackin’ house master, and we’ve really been feeling his output lately, along with the House n’ Chips imprint.
Timmy P – Fat Dingers [Strictly Rhythm]
Whatever “Fat Dingers” may be, they sound incredible on a big system. This track has great energy and has that old-skool garage vibe that’s been working so well in our sets lately.
Chemical Soldiers – Beautiful People [Abyss Records]
Will never forget the first time I heard this track. I was at The Warehouse Project many years back, and there was no chance I was leaving without finding out what this record was! It’s been creeping it’s way back into our sets for the 2021 festivals.
Kai Van Dongen – Mind Detect [Truncate]
We absolutely love the vibes on this track! Proper upbeat techno and one of the peak time tracks in all our sets at the moment. The piano riff on this is what really drew us in.
Maur – Deep Inside [Sola]
One of the biggest tracks to be released on our label Sola recently comes from Maur. Since we were sent it, it’s been doing the absolute business in the clubs and festivals. It’s usually one we draw for towards the end of our sets as it has that emotive & euphoric feel about it.
Little Fritter – Ooh La La [Sola]
Another one on our label Sola comes from our Australian brother Little Fritter. This track is emphatic, it’s intertwined with pounding drum-work and garage grooves, with sections of jungle-inspired breakbeats. It never fails anywhere we play it. It’s an absolute monster.
Getcosy – Get Up [DIRTYBIRD]
This track is so good. Getcosy is a producer who we’ve been really digging at the moment, and we’ve been supporting a lot of his tunes.
Inner City – Good Life (Inner City Edit of Carl Craig Extended Remix) [KMS Records]
One of our all-time favourite records. The vocal and the synths on this are immediately recognisable, while Carl Craig has put a euphoric twist with his remix. We’ve been closing our sets with it over the past month or so, and it’s been doing the business on every dance floor.
