Chase & Status
Aug 16, 2023
The iconic drum & bass duo Chase & Status celebrate the massive success of their recent “Baddadan” belter with some rowdy selects for Beatport’s Playlist of the Week.

We are Chase & Status, and this is our Beatport chart for our new track “Baddadan” with Bou, featuring Irah, Trigga, Flowdan and Takura. It is great to see the drum & bass scene doing so well. So many incredible young talents are coming through the ranks and making some heaters. Here are some of the tracks we have been feeling recently.

We have always focused on bringing new talent through, and our latest project reflects that. Bou has been making serious waves in the scene for a few years. His productions and DJ sets have been tearing up dance floors, so it was about time that we jumped into the studio with him. Recruiting Irah first, who laid down the iconic vocal, we knew this was something special. Trigga and Flowdan supplied the hardest verses the scene has seen in a long time, and Takura added a sick flavour to the intro. Thanks for tuning in, and we hope you enjoy our selections!

Chase & Status, Bou, Trigga, Irah, Flowdan – Baddadan [EMI]
This track has been smashing up dance floors ever since Bou played it for the first time at his DnB Allstars 360 event. The launch party for this track was a proper moment. From doing a B2B with Bou to bringing out Irah, Trigga, Flowdan and Takura to perform the track in front of such a sick crowd. Special.
B Live, Bou – F*ck Jump Up [DnB Allstars]
This track from Bou sums the scene up for us at the moment. Aggy drums, hard synths, deep bass sounds and a cold vocal from B.Live
Eksman, Hedex – MHITR (Semi-Automatic) [DnB Allstars]
Massive big up to Hedex & Eksman on this one. Massive record from an artist who is flying at the moment.
Chase & Status, BackRoad Gee – When it Rains [EMI]
The second track that we have done with Backroad Gee. One of our favourites from our album. His energy at our live shows is unmatched as well.
Bou, Slay – Closer [Universal-Island Records]
Massive vocal banger from Bou and Slay. Good to see it getting so high in the charts.
MK, Dom Dolla – Rhyme Dust (Dimension Extended Remix) [Columbia]
Another big track from Dimension that is connecting not just in the UK but being hammered in the US as well.
Chase & Status, Clementine Douglas – Mixed Emotions [EMI]
We had to include the lead single off of our last album with the incredible vocal from Clementine Douglas.
Mtox & Evoke – Listen Up [Allstars Raw]
Had to include this. We have been rinsing it in our sets, sick bassline.
Chase & Status, Irah, Popcaan – Censor [EMI]
“We no give a fuck who don’t rate us.” Popcaan and Irah are too hard on this track from our last album. Read: Chase & Status – “Fabric is an Institution in British and Global Clubbing”
