Five timeless remixes from the rising Spanish star.

Danny Avila knows a good remix when he hears it. The rising Spanish star has been a prodigal talent since his teenage years, playing stadium shows and remixing everyone from Martin Garrix and Tiesto, to Armin van Buuren and more recently Bart Skils on Drumcode, flipping 'All Over My Body' feat. Superchumbo. Considering the caliber of his latest re-rub, we asked him to share his top 5 ever remixes - those special gems that never leave his USB.

X-Dream - We Interface feat. Ariel Electron (Alex Stein & Victor Ruiz Remix)

This one’s been in almost every set since it dropped. I just love the energy on it, and those synths hit so hard, but it still keeps that groove all the way through the remix. Not many tracks you can play in a club and on a festival stage and have it work exactly the same. Amazing work, Victor and Alex!

The Scumfrog - Send Wave (Mendo Remix)

This one takes me straight back to 2014 when it dropped — I was playing it at the Space Ibiza closing on the Terrace. At the time, it was that perfect mix between techno and tech house, which has definitely shaped the sound I’m into nowadays. I love digging back into my old collection and dropping some of these records again!

Bart Skils ‘All Over My Body’ feat. Superchumbo (Danny Avila Remix)

I was going through some of the older Drumcode releases looking for something I could flip and make my own, and I came across Bart Skils’ track All Over My Body. Such a great record that I used to play a lot. It felt like the perfect one to remix and bring my own groove and touch into it, giving it a fresh update while keeping the original’s essence.

Popof, Mauro Somm - Welcome To The Future (Julian Jeweil Remix)

When I’m at that peak moment in the night and need something to take it to full energy, this is the one. It just goes so hard. I love that industrial kick on it, and those dark vocals are insane.

Maceo Plex, Faithless - Insomnia 2021

As a producer, it’s not easy to make something you can keep playing years later and have it still hit the same. The production on this remix is so solid that I’ve been playing it since it came out, and it still works every time. My favourite part is that trippy synth, and the drums are just on point. Definitely one I’ll keep going back to whenever I need a proper classic.
