Playlist of the Week: Luke Alessi

Cameron Holbrook
Luke Alessi is moving with intent right now. Off the back of his Yes Empress EP – the debut release on his freshly minted Coffee Cola label – the Australian producer is dialing in a sound that’s sharp, playful, and packed with personality. From early breakout moments to releasing one of Beatport's best-selling tracks of 2025 ("The One" with Chloé Caillet) and locking in support across tastemaker DJs and global dance floors, Alessi’s rise has been driven by a clear instinct for groove and momentum.
This Playlist of the Week pulls directly from that world, tracing the tracks that fueled the EP and the records currently living rent-free in his USB. Crisp percussion, cheeky hooks, devious basslines and no shortage of late-night energy.
A little taste of what I’ve been loving recently. I put this playlist together off the back of an epic start to 2026, after some pretty inspiring gigs and launching my own record label. It features a bunch of newer stuff I’ve found and been inspired by, some older classics that never seem to leave my usb and of course my latest four tracks which came out on my own imprint Coffee Cola which I’m absolutely buzzed about. Dig in! – Luke Alessi
Luke Alessi's Yes Empress EP is out now via Coffee Cola. Get it on Beatport.
B1 off my debut four track EP on Coffee Cola Records. Made this one after a racoon literally tried break into my hotel room and steal my guacamole in Tulum last year. I got the vid to prove it. A bit silly!
Proggy, floaty gold from Sweely. This tune takes me to a sunny Sunday on the beach, sipping on a marg and riding waves (and I can’t even surf). That good.
A funky summer roller, no frills with this one from The Trip just a sick groove and a big build. Party starter.
B2 of my Yes Empress EP on Coffee Cola. A deep late-night chugger with a steezy top-line from Kamahelo. I was so stoked when he said he was down to partner on this one with his vocal. The perfect way to round off my first EP with the label.
You all might know him from his recent bomb "Actin Tough," but my boy has been making heaters loooooong before that. Here is another example. Getting all the kudos he finally deserves.
Absolutely love what the Make A Dance lads did with this one. Big task to remix a Fatboy Slim tune and they nailed it. Funky and fun. Will be rinsing it for a minute.
*This track is unavailable in North American territories. Listen on YouTube.
Another sexy record out on Faith Beat. It’s the first time of heard of Soul Of Hex, but not the first time I’ve discovered a new artist from this label. Keen to hear what's next.
Been playing this one since it came out last year, deserves more attention, I think. Got that euphoric, French house touch with that hypnotic vocal. Leo Pol is class.
A change of pace on the playlist with this jazzy leaning number. I’ve been following El Payo for a couple of years, and all his music is like butter. So well produced and satisfying to listen to.
Had to include one of the GOATs of house music. PJ is one of my biggest inspirations, and I probably could’ve picked anything off his Feel The Music album from 1996, but I can’t go past this tune. One of the all times.
