From Acid to Anthems: Marie Vaunt’s Essential Selections

Marie Vaunt
Music has always been a journey for me, from my early days growing up in Japan to the stages I’m lucky enough to play today. For this chart, I wanted to share the tracks that define the Marie Vaunt sound, balancing the raw, chaotic energy of Acid Techno with the timeless influences that first sparked my love for electronic music.
This selection features some of my own pivotal career milestones, a few legendary classics that still give me chills, and the incredible rising talent I’m currently supporting on my label, Kurai Records.
This track was a real pivot point for me. It was the first time I really leaned into that harder, more aggressive acid tone, and the response was just overwhelming. There is no better feeling than being in the middle of a set and hearing the fans sing the lyrics back at me. It’s become a staple in my sets and definitely defined the direction I wanted to take with my music.
If "Kiss My Acid" started the fire, this one was the gasoline that galvanized my place in the scene. I feel like this track really solidified what people expect from Marie Vaunt, and I’m all for it. The support on this was absolutely insane and it’s been on the Beatport Mainstage genre page's Top 10 for over six months now. Couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out!
IOA is easily one of the most exciting up-and-coming artists out there right now, and this track is a perfect example of why I wanted to start my own label – to showcase this kind of raw energy from artists who are yet to get the recognition they deserve. It’s got massive energy and depth and always does serious damage in my sets.
These two are absolute rising stars in the German techno scene. Their production quality is top-tier, and they really understand how to make an acid line cut through a massive system. Every time I drop this, the energy in the room shifts. They’re definitely a duo you need to have on your radar!
In my opinion, this track single-handedly ushered in that massive "Indie-Dance" and "Electro-House" era that took over the world in the late 2000s. It was gritty, stylish, and had so much attitude. It reminded us that dance music didn't have to be clinical; it could be fun and a bit chaotic.
This felt like such an amazing return to form for The Prodigy. It has that classic "no-holds-barred" energy that only they can deliver. I actually love this track so much that I made my own bootleg remix of it, and I’ve played it in almost every single one of my sets since. It never fails to get a reaction.
I don’t even want to think about how many times I’ve played this track throughout my life. It’s a masterpiece of tension and atmosphere. Even after all these years, that breakdown still gives me chills. It’s one of those rare tracks that is both a club anthem and a deeply personal listening experience.
This is the definition of a timeless record. It’s so simple – just a perfect loop and a great vocal – but it’s absolutely flawless. It’s a masterclass in how you don’t need a hundred layers to make a hit. You can play this in a techno set or a house set today, and it still feels as fresh as it did in 1998.
This is the one that started it all. I can still remember the first time I heard those iconic piano chords. It was my gateway into electronic music, and it showed me how a track could be emotional, cinematic, and danceable all at once. Without this record, I’m not sure I’d be doing what I’m doing today.

This track holds a very special place in my heart because it was the first release on my label, Kurai Records. To have it reach #1 on Beatport was such a massive achievement and a dream start for the imprint. It represents everything the label stands for: dark, high-energy acid techno, and will always hold a special place in my heart.
