The French duo share the tracks shaping their sets, their energy, and the spirit of their dancefloor moments.

Fresh off the release of their new single Out at Sea on Embassy One, French electronic duo Angara step into the spotlight for Beatportal’s Dancefloor Essentials, selecting the tracks that have been lighting up their sets and inspiring their melodic, uplifting approach to club music. Known for weaving cinematic emotion into propulsive grooves, Quentin and Loris craft atmospheres that breathe — warm, immersive worlds where subtlety and movement coexist.

Their Essentials capture exactly that balance: stripped-back grooves that give a room space to move, deep atmospheric gems that shift the energy without overwhelming it, and emotionally rich moments that feel almost suspended in time. These are the tracks they return to on tour, in the studio, and in the quiet hours between shows — each one a reminder of why they fell in love with dance music in the first place.

Below, Angara share the records currently guiding their dancefloors.

“Mute Navigator (Original Mix)” — Nick Curly

This one is a real go-to for us when we want to lift the room without forcing it. The groove is super stripped-back and simple, but that’s exactly why it works, it just rolls and gives people space to breathe. The little melodic touches on top add this warm, optimistic feeling that puts everyone in a good mood.

“Dissolute (Original Mix)” — Paride Saraceni

When we want to go full tech-house mode, this is one of our secret weapons. The energy is relentless but super controlled, with a groove you could happily dance to for hours without getting tired. The simple vocal gimmick adds just the right hook to lock people in, while that looping violin-style synth line subtly evolves and pulls back over time, keeping the tension alive without ever feeling overdone.

“This Version Of You (feat. Julianna Barwick) (Original Mix)” — ODESZA ft. Julianna Barwick

It’s a very popular remix, but for us the hype is completely deserved. Joseph Ray is a master at building a whole universe around a track, here he keeps people dancing while holding onto a strong melodic core and a really emotional identity. The way the pads open up in the break is just beautiful, and that cryptic spoken vocal on top deepens the atmosphere even more, turning it into a real moment in the set.

“Cork (Original Mix)” — Ill Sugi

This track drops you straight into a very particular atmosphere : warm, trippy, and instantly inviting. The groove is spot-on, always rolling but never aggressive, with these really original sound textures that stand out. Alongside “Dominika” from the same artist, it’s one of those tracks that carries a lot of good memories for us and always makes a strong impression on the dancefloor.
