Playlist of the Week: Nick Curly

Nick Curly Beatport Playlist of the Week

Nick Curly

Dec 2, 2025
With his 'Joystick EP' on the horizon and as the powerhouse behind both 8Bit and Cecille Records, Nick Curly curates a playlist that channels his signature groove and forward-thinking house aesthetic

Ahead of the Joystick EP dropping on mine and Marc’s label, Cecille Records, I put together Beatportal’s Playlist of the Week, built around my latest single “Joystick” and the collab “Attention” with Joella Jackson.

I’ve gathered a selection of tracks I’m vibing with right now, including cuts from my labels Cecille and 8Bit Records, plus some tunes that have been hitting hard in my recent sets. You’ll also hear a few of my own productions that really represent where my sound is at.

Hope this playlist gives you that golden-hour energy and sends some good vibes your way, wherever you’re listening.

Nick Curly - Joystick [Cecille Records]

This track is one of those beautiful accidents. I walked into the studio that morning, tried a bunch of stuff, and nothing felt right; the whole day was basically slipping through my fingers. Then I grabbed a quick lunch with Gorge, came back with like two hours left on the clock before my next meeting… and boom.

Out of nowhere, the idea hits me: two killer samples that just lock in instantly, that signature sound that jumps out of the speakers. I stumbled across this plugin, dropped in the vocal, and suddenly everything snapped into place.

It’s a bit of a misfit genre-wise, not really house, not really techno, but it’s pure energy. A proper little bomb that gets the whole room moving within seconds.

Chinonegro - Funky Beat [8Bit Records]

There’s not much to say about this track. It was one of the most-played tunes last summer in Ibiza by the newcomer Chinonegro from Lima, who’s already released his third EP on me and Gorge's 8Bit Records label. This kid has a big future ahead of him, and the track is just pure funk.

Radio Slave, Kameelah Waheed - All Rize (Harry Romero Remix Dub) [Rekids Records]

A remix by Harry where he's outdone himself once again. An absolute killer, in the club and every dance floor. I love it when he goes in this direction. All I can say is: "Groove Master Harry."

Gorge, Andre Hommen - Marashi [8Bit Records]

What can you even say about this track? I’ve loved it for years. It’s made for those special moments, especially during an after-hours in the early morning, when the atmosphere changes and everything feels electric.

This track just radiates that incredible energy. A truly great collaboration between my 8Bit partner, Gorge, and Andre Hommen.

Nick Curly - Just A Feeling [Mood Child]

"Just A Feeling" is also one of those tracks where I tried something different. The beat really puts the snare drums and bassline in front and center, followed by that one vocal message. It dropped on my friends Sirus Hood and Manda Moor's label  Mood Child. Just thinking about doing a couple of remixes for this track for 2026.

Reboot - Rambo [Cecille Records]

Frank Reboot is one of those friends who started around the same time as me and has made it all the way to today on this long journey. I’m super proud to have him back in full force on our label, Cecille Records. This is already his third EP, and he’s dropping banger after banger. The next one is in the works, and “Rambo” is just one of the tracks I wanna mention here. Honestly, I’d love to pick them all. Give them a listen, they’re insane.

Roy Davis Jr., Jay Juniel, Men From The Nile - Watch Them Come (Manda Moor Remix) [Underground Therapy Records]

One of my all-time favorite classics, remix by one of my favorite people in the scene, my sis, Manda Moor. Absolutely outstanding work on this track. I’m loving it so much.

Nick Curly - Attention (feat. Joëlla Jackson) [Cecille Records]

This is the second track from my Joystick EP. Super excited to have teamed up with Joëlla Jackson, a talented up-and-comer from the Netherlands and a good friend, known for her awesome sets and infectious positive energy. Really stoked about this collab!

The Checkup, DJ Merci, Jo Harris - Nasty Things [Heattraxx]

The Checkup, DJ Merc and Jo Harris hit hard with Nasty Things,  a driving house groove with deep, hypnotic tech layers. Jo's sultry vocals give it a dark, magnetic edge that keeps the dance floor moving. Packed with energy, emotion, and pure club vibes, this one’s built to dominate any set. Another killer release on Heattraxx.

Mr. G - City Heat (G's Underground Dub) [Running Back]

Mr.G's tracks are both deep and forward-moving. His music has subtle, organic textures but always carries a strong sense of momentum, making it both energizing and atmospheric. That is exactly what he did again in this track on his latest release on Running Back.
