Playlist of the Week: Chris Avantgarde

Chris Avantgarde Playlist of the Week 16x9

Chris Avantgarde

Nov 26, 2025
Ahead of his forthcoming debut album, Chris Avantgarde shares a snapshot of his world with a playlist that moves between melodic textures, tech-driven power, UK breaks, and peak-time chaos.

My 'Playlist of the Week' is a live snapshot of things I’m playing at the moment. From some of my current own new records to stuff I love. I think it gives a good insight into where my head is at currently, loving the combination of different genres I’m into, while trying to tell a story throughout.

I found that currently three-hour-sets seem to be the sweet-spot for me, as they give me enough time to actually go through different genres and on tangents that otherwise wouldn’t make as much sense from a story-telling perspective. It’s still possible in two-hour-sets but anything below that just calls for a different kind of set entirely I feel.

From more melodic leaning to techier influences all the way to UK breaks and peak time techno, I find that sets that take you on a trip like that are most enjoyable for me personally. I hope this playlist manages to reflect that. I’ll see you on the road!

Chris Avantgarde, Eddie Thoneick - The Other Side (feat. Kisch) [Hyperreal]

I always wanted a closing record of my own, something for the sunsets and sunrises, and how this turned out felt closest to that.

Chris Avantgarde - Down for the Night (feat. Poté) [Hyperreal]

This track combines different influences of mine. A collaboration with my long-term friend Poté, it’s still very much club-focused but works on both big stages and smaller clubs alike, striking that balance.

Jubilee - Main Character [Numbers]

Found Jubilee’s new EP on NUMBERS to be really inspiring. “Main Character” is my favorite from the EP – it reminds me of all the things I love about breakbeat and UK breaks.

Del30 - Mind 3 [Sola]

Straight-forward club roller that always does the job. Love the vocal and super effective arrangement.

Max Styler - You & Me [Nu Moda]

Max is really nailing the combination of different genres and influences for me, always with a fresh take. “You & Me,” the first record on his newly established label NuModa, has been a staple in my sets recently.

Anti Up - Maximum [Anti Up]

I’ve been loving the Anti Up project by Chris Lake & Chris Lorenzo for a while now. Their “less is more” approach makes these records incredibly effective.

Duck Sauce - Can’t Stop (KiNK Remix) [DFTD]

KiNK is king – let’s be honest. I don’t think he’s ever released anything I didn’t love. This new remix for Duck Sauce is a great ravey peak-time tune that hits all the right spots for me.

Adam Beyer, Chris Avantgarde - Desolate Lands [Drumcode]

My first collaboration with Adam Beyer – I play this in every set. The crowd reaction when it first drops tells me we did something right with this one.

Chris Avantgarde - Energy [Hyperreal]

“Energy” was the first release on my new label Hyperreal and the first single from the upcoming album. It's a good entry point into where my head is at currently: high-energy, clubby, with a hint of rave.

Thomas Gandey, Glusko - Conversations (Wehbba Remix) [Watergate Records]

Love this one – especially the second drop. A great combination of melodic and peak-techno elements.

Kryder - Time [Black Hole Recordings]

A classic reimagined once again. Love how this doesn’t take away from the Hans Zimmer original but gives it a very playable spin. Great closing record.
