Gojnea76 Curates 10 Essential Romanian Cuts That Go Beyond Minimal

Cameron Holbrook
Romanian producer Gojnea76 isn’t here to play by the rules – his sound fuses minimal tech, deep house, and raw percussive heat into something entirely his own. As the force behind the FUEL label and party series, he’s been quietly redefining what underground house from Bucharest can sound like.
Now he’s taking that same energy to a new playlist, spotlighting 10 Romanian tracks that break away from the Romania minimal mold and dig into the country’s deeper, weirder corners. It’s a love letter to Romania’s underground – rough around the edges, full of soul, and impossible to box in.
"Romania’s electronic music scene is often boxed into the ro-minimal stereotype, but this playlist flips the narrative. These tracks showcase a diverse sonic landscape that pushes boundaries and challenges what Romanian electronic music can be." – Gojnea76
A Romanian electro homage to a Detroit classic. I discovered Andrew Red Hand recently, and his music feels like a breath of fresh air in the local scene.
Full gas, no brakes. My track “Punisher Braila” is, ironically, a metaphor for a certain kind of love ‘angry yet crazily sweet’ channeled into pure energy.
I remember this track popping up randomly in my headphones while I was at CDG/ Paris airport during a layover. Everyone was speeding past me, each in a rush to catch their flight, and the music, together with everything unfolding around me, locked perfectly into that moment.
I discovered this amazing project back in 2010, and I’ve been a fan ever since. Shoutout to Khidja.
High-tensile techno from a Romanian artist who has always had something different to say, delivered in a distinct way. The title says it all: form, focus, force.
Cracked house textures roll through dub-fog atmospherics. Romansoff is doing a great job not only as a producer but as a DJ as well.
A highly talented Romanian artist who truly left a mark with extraordinary music. Unfortunately, from what I know, he’s stepped away from the scene, but I’d love to see him back.
A wiry post-punk pulse meets machine-funk minimalism. Hypnosis without the loop fatigue.
Her name keeps popping up in my close circle, for all the right reasons, she’s an amazing artist.
A name that needs no introduction. In my humble opinion, by far the most inspiring and authentic producer from Romania. Proof that “minimal” can be maximal in imagination.
