Playlist of the Week: François X

Francois X Beatport Playlist

François X

Parisian DJ/producer and label head François X curates a powerful journey through techno’s emotional core – balancing tension, release, and the poetry of repetition for Beatport's Playlist of the Week.

Hey I'm François X, a DJ, producer, from Paris and founder of the label XX LAB, a platform dedicated to club culture and sonic storytelling. Over the past decade, I’ve shaped my sound between Paris and the world, exploring a form of techno that’s both physical and emotional, precise yet deeply human.

This playlist reflects that duality, tracks  that capture what I love most about the genre: tension, release, and the poetry hidden inside repetition. Every piece here resonates with my personal story and the evolution of my sound. It’s not just about dance floor power, it’s about emotion, identity, and movement as one.

Mac Declos - Archive Of The Future [Mama Told Ya]

A mind-expanding trip through time, futuristic, euphoric, and pure hands-in-the-air techno hypnosis.

RMK - Extrium [Fossil Archive]

So groovy. There’s this recurring synth that hypnotizes you, and then the break comes, completely unexpected, like a door opening on the dance floor. Every time, it surprises me.

DJ Dextro - Ava [Suara]

A rolling groove that builds and breaks in unexpected ways, pure tension and release for peak-time moments.

Von Sorgen - Tanker [Diffuse Reality Records]

This one reminds me of the raw DJ Hyperactive energy - fierce, powerful, industrial in spirit, yet totally alive.

Inox Traxx, Rødhåd - Silvene 01 [WSNWG]

Anthemic yet elegant, a lush techno hymn wrapped in atmospheric power and emotional precision.

Ribe, Roll Dann - Trégua [Klockworks]

This could have been made by Ben Klock. It has that hypnotic groove, that stomping rhythm, and those small moments of silence that explode into light.

François X - In Memory Of [XX Lab]

From my latest EP The Skin Between Us Part II. It’s one of my most personal tracks, a space between melancholy and release, where emotion meets power.

Lega Groove - Seduction (Confidential Recipe Remix) [Illegal Alien Records]

This one reminds me of stripped-down Chicago energy; like Mike Dunn or early house, minimalistic, groovy, and completely irresistible.
