Playlist of the Week: Mark Knight

This chart is a proper reflection of who I am as a DJ, what I stand for musically. It’s got that full spectrum I’ve always gravitated towards – from the rootsy, soulful house and feel-good disco grooves that light up a dance floor, right through to the more driving, techy edges that really bring the energy in a peak-time set.
These are tunes that have genuinely shaped my sets across the globe. Records that have done the business, night after night, and made me look good behind the decks, no question. There’s a mix in there: some are brand new, breaking onto the scene with fresh energy, and others are clever reworks of timeless classics, those golden era tracks we all grew up on, reimagined for today’s dance floors.
This is the sound I champion, the vibe I push, and the kind of music that continues to inspire me, both in the studio and on the road.
It was an honour to work on such an iconic house record. We wanted to stay true to the original’s spirit while giving it a sound and arrangement that works in 2025. We kept the full vocal and the song structure because the message is so powerful, and simply updated the production so it still resonates today.
Paul wrote this after being inspired by hearing a Bent record. It’s been circulating as a white label for almost a year, getting support from DJs as varied as Jamie Jones and Natasha Diggs. Paul’s a close friend of mine for 25–30 years. He doesn’t release much under his own name, but when he does, it’s always something special.
Without a doubt the track I’ve played most in my headphones this year. The vocal has an almost R&B quality, fused with a deep house groove that’s just gold. Everything NWN is doing right now is on point. It was also a former Killer Cut on my Kiss FM Friday night show.
James Haskell is growing fast as a producer. This is his first solo release on Toolroom and in my opinion his best work yet. I’ve been playing it for months as a secret weapon – you know it’s a special track that when DJs and promoters are running up to ask what it is.
Such a brilliant move by Defected to get Jazz-N-Groove on this remix. It captures the best of late ’90s and early 2000s house while sounding fresh for 2025. Great work from Brian Tappert on this reimagining of one of the standout records of the summer.
A brand new Fool’s Paradise release, remixed by two of the best in-house producers. They’ve reworked the West End Records classic into pure magic, a must for true house fans.
8Bit are on a real roll, putting out incredible club records. This one flips Philly Groove into something huge. A proper main room track that takes the roof off.
Great to see Zoo Brazil back and in form. This is a brilliant house record – versatile enough to open a set or close the night. It was also a Killer Cut on my Friday show.
The Tenacious boys take on the Narada Michael Walden disco/boogie classic and turn it into a modern house weapon. A perfect example of how to rework a classic with respect and energy.
Without doubt the anthem of the summer in Ibiza. Enough said!
