Ahead of her release 'Take Me There' with vocalist NADIAH, Arielle Free introduces us to some tracks from her current set
Funk Forever - Shee

This for me has been the happiest moment in my sets whenever I bang this out. Pure old school strings, funk and a whole lot of joy! She has been someone I’ve been keeping an eye on for a while now and his productions are so intricate and full. High energy, fully packed with a sack full of serotonin.

Drop That - Tiff Cornish

Tiff Cornish always fills her production with a whole lot of sass and attitude and this one on La La’s independent label Sound As records is that and more. Proper skank face tune that has to be fired out loud, it's been my go to when I'm nearing the end of my sets and nee a full throttle moment.

The Records Turn - BETH

Scottish producer Beth played this out during one of her sets at the end of last year and at Rise Festival and I had to beg her to let me have it for my Free Your Mind Label. With hints of a 90’s rave, hook laden vocal this just always hammers out so well. A real dance floor weapon that works in the club as well as at festivals, its what we call in scotland a “pure belter.”

XXX - William Kiss

Any song that has sultry vocals is going to make my ears prick up. I actually saw a clip of this from a Peggy Gou set and went down a rabbit hole trying to find it online. It comes from Australia native William Kiss whose productions I've been obsessed with for the last two years. High tempo but sexy AF that then boots off it takes the dancefloor to another dimension. A real hedonistic feel to this record which I'll continue to play forever.

Basement trash - Demi Riquísimo, Luke Alessi

These two together is a match match in heaven, sampling the iconic Masters at Work “Work” track the boys have layered it with a euphoric synth laden electronic m masterpiece and it just grows throughout the whole production. Makes me want to jump in a car and drive like a maniac on an abandoned road. A Real Iron vibe to this one which I think will continue to do the damage on the dancefloor throughout the winter clubbing season.

Keep On Jumpin' - Arielle Free, GhstGhstGhst

Myself and Ghst Ghst Ghst made this two years ago on a whim after we had made our track “ Blow My Mind’ which was more of a summer festive al banger focus. Keep on Jumpin’ samples the strings from La Musiques famous original which Todd Terry used for his huge house anthem. We wanted to try make a raven disco tinged track and I feel like we nailed it with this one. The silence we kept in before the last drop always makes the dance floor lose its mind before the tease of the high pitched synth begins again and then all hell breaks loose. Think I've played it in every festival set I've had for the last two years and it never gets old.

Let The Bass Kick- X & Ivy

The reflex action my body’s when I hear this track is hilarious. The strings and bounces beat makes me jiggle in ways I didn’t know was possible. The vocals keeps its edgy whilst the melody makes it soar. Another joyful hands in the air track with a fast tempo that makes everyone jiggle incessantly.

Downtown - Sally C

Sally C is a wizard at making a meaty or “chunky” dance floor weapon. This one I love to kick in once we’ve warmed up as it’s always the gear change from warm up to full pelt. The mixed bags of vocal samples on top of the chuggy rolling beat works for all occasions. A real chunker for any dj set.

Forbidden Fruit - Azzecca

Leaning into a deeper house sound on this, I love the ethereal vocals over the acid underground house beat. A moment for the dance floor to take a breath dive right back in and give your mate that little wink thats says we are in it for the long haul tonight. The layers, the wonky baseline, the haunting vocals I'm so obsessed with this record from beginning to end.
