Playlist of the Week: Boris Brejcha

Boris Brejcha
We are celebrating a Fckng decade. German techno label Fckng Serious turns 10 this August. For the occasion, we curated a special Beatport chart.
Back in 2015, the high-tech minimal pioneer Boris Brejcha had a vision to create a label where artists release music exactly as they want, with no compromises. From day one, close friends Ann Clue, Deniz Bul, and the duo Theydream shaped the Fckng Serious sound and spirit. The roster expanded with Moritz Hofbauer in 2020, Frieder & Jakob in 2023, and Julian Wassermann in 2024.
Fckng Serious has never been about one style. It embraces a wide spectrum of electronic music, with fun and crew energy always at the core. Over the past decade, the label has grown into an international force, delivering standout releases, unforgettable events, and a merch line loved by fans worldwide. This is only the beginning, and the best is still to come.
The label's FCKNG SERIOUS - TEN YEARS EP drops on August 29. Buy it on Beatport.
The very first track ever released on my own label Fckng Serious. On August 4, 2015, this track came out together with a remix by Ann Clue. It marked the start of an unforgettable journey with my friends.
“Ginger” is my latest release and holds a very special place in my heart both musically and personally. I dedicated this track to my girlfriend who has supported me and my career for many years and is an integral part of it.
When I think back to the last few years I naturally remember many of our gigs together. One track that has really stuck in my head is Ann Clue’s “Trip.” The massive bassline still hits even harder during live shows.
Moritz was the first artist we welcomed into our crew after five years of Fckng Serious. His debut release was “Black Ice” which I also had the pleasure of remixing. In my opinion, Moritz is a highly talented and exceptional musician and we are going to hear a lot more from him in the future.
My bros Frieder & Jakob have been part of the team for many years. Since 2023 they have also been releasing on Fckng Serious. “Sunny Side Up” was their first track and I think it is a fantastic debut single. Fun fact: We came up with the name “Sunny Side Up” together at the breakfast table in Buenos Aires right after ordering our eggs.
After several years with Fckng Serious I spent an important chapter of my career at Ultra Records to take on a new musical challenge. After releasing there for several years “Up Down Jumper” became my first single back on Fckng Serious and it is definitely one of my personal favorites.
Deniz always knows how to create a great vibe during his sets. He strikes the perfect balance between techno, house and tech house just like with this track which was the label’s most successful single in 2023. “VIBIN” – the name says it all.
Julian Wassermann is the newest artist on Fckng Serious. We are excited to release an album with him this year. His latest single from the album truly represents the style that is typical for Julian, a track that gives me pure open-air vibes.
My dad has been making music his whole life. He used to play in bands and today he has found his passion in producing music on the computer. He is also one of the reasons we founded the label Yellow Kitchen. Spending time with my dad in the studio makes me happy and proud. One of the results of those sessions is “Fantasy.”
This year I was thrilled to receive my very first Gold Record.
“Gravity” was released in 2019 on Ultra Records, LLC. I was honestly surprised at how successful this single turned out to be. Even after all these years I still play “Gravity” regularly and the fans’ reactions never fail to give me goosebumps.
