Never Dull’s Disco Fix: 10 Tracks That Keep the Groove Alive

Never Dull
Never Dull here! Fresh off the release of my latest single “BOUNCE,” I’m excited to put together this exclusive collection of disco, funk, and house tracks for Beatport that inspired the energy and attitude behind the record. Whether you’re on the dance floor, at the afters, or just need a reason to move, these are the grooves that keep things bouncing.
This playlist is a snapshot of the grooves that have moved me over the years. Disco, funk, and house cuts that blur the line between past and future, and still feel timeless today. I was born and raised in San Diego, California, in a proud Mexican-American family. Growing up near the border gave me a front-row seat to two cultures at once, and that duality shaped everything about my sound: the warmth, the rhythm, the soul, the bounce. I’ve always been drawn to music that feels good, fun, expressive, and full of heart. Rooted in the golden era of disco and funk, but built for the dance floors of today. These are the tracks I’ve been rinsing lately. They all carry that same BIG DISCO ENERGY.
I was born and raised in San Diego, California, and I would always hear the latino community bumping '80s Funk music from their lowriders while cruising with the top down. I was lucky enough to sample one of those legendary funk records for this new song, give it a new twist and make it into a funky feel-good house record.
If you get deep enough into French House you’ll eventually bump into Room 5. I recently decided to revisit their best album ‘Music & You’ and I forgot how clever and good it was when we’re talking about sampling disco and adding new elements to make it fresh, Disco House perfection.
2000’s Kylie Minogue has always been in my book and I recently took a dive into the remixes for her work during that same era. Kid Creme delivers a hypnotizing Dub remix that has the perfect balance on the dance floor to keep the energy going on a saturday night, and get some true Kylie fans excited as well.
When I went digging into the underground world of disco, this was one of the tracks I loved. A wonky bass line, slightly out of time synth, and a high-pitched vocal are truly hypnotizing. The PDM edit retains the essence of the song while making it suitable for club play.
I’ve been playing in clubs in the US, and most of the time, I would be sharing the bill with tech house DJs. I wanted to make a track that had similar ‘sonics & frequencies’ as a tech house record, but I wanted to make it really soulful, funky, and interesting.
Usually, when I mention Modjo, most people think “Lady,” but I think this one is truly underrated. I love when a song builds tension and you get the payoff at the end with a euphoric chorus. Can’t go wrong with this one.
"Muy Finito" was one of those records I always wanted to make but I didn’t know where it would "fit" in the current EDM music scene so it didn’t get released for a couple of years, now it’s one of my favorite records I’ve made. Fusing Italo disco with funk and recording my own vocals in Spanish makes this a special record for me.
This is a record that has never left my bag. If the crowd is good, I’ll definitely play this out. I love the soulfulness and the harmonies in the vocals, truly one of my favorite records ever.
This is a recent one. It’s giving me early Armand Van Helden vibes but in 2025. Super fresh sound and I think this one nails the disco/rap fusion. Great tune!
This one came into my radar a few months back while digging. When searching for 2000s disco house, I never thought to search after 2005 because most of the classic records had been done by then, but this album has a few bangers on it. This one is my favorite. I love the funky-latin piano with the rap-like vocal. Such an unexpected mix, and it works beautifully.
