Playlist of the Week: Catz ‘n Dogz

Playlist of the Week: Catz ‘n Dogz

Poland’s prolific house music duo Catz ‘n Dogz take on Beatport’s Playlist of the Week with a spectacular selection of dance-floor-ready tunes.

In this chart, we wanted to include a mix of music we like to play. We very often mix different emotions in one set. It’s very important that our music is not linear. It’s just like life; you can’t be all the time happy, because you wouldn’t notice the happiness.

We usually like to put very emotional pieces mixed with pure fun stuff. We love to surprise the crowd and see how they react. We also wanted to highlight the fantastic producers whose craft we really respect in our chart.

John Monkman – Entropy [Beesemyer Music]

This is definitely one of the best tracks this year (so far). On a good sound system, it just blows your mind.

Alinka – Who Am I [Bambossa Records]

Alinka is really on fire. Not only is she an amazing producer, but also a great DJ. This one represents everything we like about house music.

Thomas Barnett – Daybreak [Audiomatique Recordings]

We’ve recently been playing this record out again after many years. So many good memories with this one. It’s like an early morning record when the crowd is still ready for it. Rolling perfection.

Iron Curtis, Johannes Albert – Enjoy [Frank Music]

This tune is one of the tracks you will definitely hear a lot in our sets this year. Iron Curtis and Johannes Albert truly locked on to something incredible here.

AVNU – Still Slinging Jams [Ellum]

I hope this album will get more recognition because it has a few phenomenal tracks. This one also reminds us a lot about Soundstream stuff which we absolutely love.

Perel – Matrix (Sofia Kourtesis Remix) [Kompakt]

Love the drums here, and the beautiful anthemic piano works great with Perel’s vocals. A great collaboration between two talented artists. Perfect for the summer open airs.

Frits Wentink, DJ Boring – Chad Brothers [Bobby Donny]

I don’t know how we were not playing this one before. The production is everything on this one. We played it at a sunrise set last weekend. So good.

Saoirse – Trust [trUst Recordings]

Saoirse’s music is just amazing. With her, we keep on discovering good track after good track. “Trust” shows us a good combination of a cosmic house and rolling drums.

The Persuader – WHAT IS THE TIME, MR. TEMPLAR? [SVEK]

An absolute classic from one of our favorite Swedish labels, SVEK. The Persuader (aka Jesper Dahlbäck) has produced many impressive tracks, but this one is one of our best-loved.

Catz ‘n Dogz – Reach [He.She.They]

We were working on this track during the pandemic and later polished it over the months of testing in the clubs. I think it gives the spirit of what people are feeling at the moment. On the one hand, we all know we must start living in the moment and enjoy what we have, but we are also all looking forward to brighter days.
