Charlotte de Witte Ventures into Psytrance Territory with ‘Asura’ EP
Charlotte de Witte Ventures into Psytrance Territory with ‘Asura’ EPOctober 8, 2021
Charlotte de Witte taps into her early and psychedelic electronic music influences for a new three-track EP on KNTXT.
Belgian techno superstar Charlotte de Witte continues on her strong run of releases in 2021 with Asura EP — out now via her KNTXT label.
The three-track EP follows the release of her expeditious Formula EP and her wildly successful “The Age Of Love” remix with her partner Enrico Sangiuliano, which was Beatport’s top track back in August.
Now she’s back on the road and growing her KNTXT brand at an astonishing rate with releases from techno up-and-comers like ONYVAA and Beatport Next artist Alignment,
And Charlotte de Witte’s latest venture on KNTXT is a unique blend of her psytrance history and early rave influences. Psychedelic to its very core, the thundering mechanics of “Asura,” the technicolor incantations of “Soma,” and the psytrance rapture of “Stigma” paint a picture of an artist that’s not afraid to take it back to her early days.
“With Asura EP, I’m trying to give you a little insight into my musical influences by going back to my roots,” Charlotte said about the EP. “We’re speaking about a young Charlotte who, about 12 or 13 years ago, got indulged in the world of electronic music by going to her first underground clubs and raves. From electro and techno to acid core and hardcore to psytrance. This EP flirts with the soundscapes of the latter.”
