As the world continues living life in isolation, we’ll be visiting with artists from across the globe to find out what they’re listening to, and how they’re listening habits have changed under quarantine.
This time, Dirtybird bossman Claude VonStroke, who’s dropped a timely new single dubbed “I’m Solo.”
Check out Claude VonStroke’s full Stay Home Vibes chart, which can also be used as a LINK playlist, so you can DJ these tracks at home. And read our interview with Claude below.
Why have you chosen these tracks?
These tracks are all vibe tracks, there’s no rhyme or reason behind the choices. They all just have a distinct feeling. A lot of them have titles that signify the current scenario.
How have your listening habits changed in isolation?
I listen to way more mellow stuff in isolation. I’m not throwing on a ton of bangers over here right now.
Is there music you have rediscovered recently?
Yeah, I am so in love with all the old, ‘90s, cooled-out electronica like Portishead, Massive Attack, Boards Of Canada… that was a special time.
Do you view music differently than you did before the pandemic?
Maybe, I think music is still one of the few things people can feel in their hearts. For me personally, the isolated times have made me appreciate music a lot more and not take anything for granted. Just for example, in my studio I’m so grateful for everything here so I can work on music right now.
And lastly, what’s happening in the picture you’ve provided for us?
In the photo I’m trying to make a music video for my new single all by myself with no help. It was insane to try it, but I think it worked even if it was just to prove it to myself that I could do it.
