Put your hands up for 'Motor City!' Gabry Ponte's high-octane spin on a detroit Techno classic
Italian suave meets Detroit industrialism on Gabry Ponte's epic new edit.

Fired-up on summer party adrenaline, Italian trailblazer Gabry Ponte test-drives Matthew Dear’s globally adored 1999 record ‘Hands Up For Detroit’ with slick new edit ‘Motor City’, out now on his own PENTAPHONIA Records.
Paying homage to the birthplace of techno, the track title takes inspiration from Detroit’s long-standing nickname, ‘Motor City’. It’s built on a foundation of classic drum machine grooves, hypnotic synth cycles, and analogue textures, signalling to the scene’s pioneering sound — all while injecting the kind of high-octane, festival-ready energy and stadium-scale production that Gabry Ponte is best known for.
Bringing Detroit industrialism to Milan, ‘Motor City’ proved one of Gabry Ponte’s most enigmatic drops at his historic SAN SIRO DANCE event last month, where he became the first DJ to headline San Siro stadium to a sold-out 55k crowd — in what was a truly unforgettable night of pure dance music magic.
From the first kick to the final drop, ‘Motor City’ is a mainstage machine that pulses with underground DNA and lands with global intent.
