Insomniac's footprint in the dance/electronic live circuit is growing – again. On July 7, the events production company and promoter announced its expansion into the Rocky Mountains region with "Insomniac Rockies," a new arm covering Colorado and Utah, with anchor cities like Denver and Salt Lake City, and storied venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
The launch of Insomniac Rockies is led by 14 events featuring various selectors, ranging from Carl Cox to Sara Landry to Deeper Purpose and DREYA V. Fittingly, this initial lineup also taps into the area's bass-forward identity, delivering a heavy low-end punch with sets from Infected Mushroom and Brutalismus 3000.
Beginning with a Day Trip-branded event on July 12, the kickoff shows wind through various Denver venues, including the famed amphitheatre, The JunkYard, Club Vinyl, the Fillmore Auditorium, Summit, and The Brighton. The initial slate of Insomniac Rockies shows currently only encompasses Colorado, with details on Utah events to come.
Although Insomniac Rockies marks the company's most definitive commitment to the region yet, Insomniac is no stranger to the Rocky Mountains. Pasquale Rotella's brand previously hosted an annual edition of its flagship festival, EDC, at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds in Aurora, Colorado, from 2008 through 2011. Insomniac has also held several other events in the region to date, like its High Altitude series, which touched down in Park City, Utah from January 23 through February 2, 2025.
