Have you ever felt protected while listening to electronic music?

“Oxossi”, the new collaboration between Brazilian DJ and producer Curol and French artist Marasi, wasn’t made to follow trends. It’s a track built with intention. A kind of ritual in musical form, inspired by something older than the beat itself.

Inspired by Oxóssi, the Yoruba deity of the forest, abundance, and protection, the track is a modern rework of a Brazilian classic. While it echoes Afro House rhythms, its power moves beyond genre. It’s not just a dancefloor tool. It’s a call to presence.

“The chant is a traditional form of musical expression in African religions. It reinforces the ancestral connection and the energy of protection and prosperity. This track celebrates the power of nature and faith, inviting everyone to connect with the essence of Oxóssi”, says Curol.

The collaboration began on Instagram, where mutual admiration led to creative exchange. Curol shared the early version with a bold vision: to reinterpret a traditional theme with a fresh aesthetic. Marasi responded by layering his own signature textures. The result is something that feels ceremonial. A track rooted in history, yet designed for the now.

“Curol’s Brazilian energy merged with my style, and something strong, grounded, and new came to life”, says Marasi.

Released on WE’RE HERE, a label known for pushing genre-defying projects, Oxossi marks a new chapter in Curol’s international rise. With performances across Europe, Latin America, and Africa, and support from names like Keinemusik, Black Coffee, and Lee Burridge, she’s carving out a space of her own. She was also the only Brazilian artist on the DGTL Amsterdam lineup in 2025.

Oxossi isn’t just a release. It’s a reminder of what often gets lost on the dancefloor: meaning. A track made to move, but also to feel. And remember.
