GROOVMNT, Let's Karpool & Cougar Pit are back on OH2 Records with "SET ME FREE", a track that deepens the emotional, UK garage-rooted sound they’ve been shaping since the start of the year. With their distinctive sound, the trio delivers another introspective yet high-energy garage tune designed to spark both the soul and the dancefloor.
This release marks also a significant moment for the American artists, as it arrives as part of their self-titled EP - Set Me Free - which brings together all their previous releases on the label: "WON’T GET THIS BACK", "FOREVER" and of course “SET ME FREE”. The EP not only solidifies their artistic identity, but also highlights OH2 Records’ commitment to pushing forward its garage wave.
GROOVMNT: “From the start, we knew that 'SET ME FREE' was going to be driven by emotion. The moment we found the vocal - it had this longing yet powerful presence - we built everything around it. The synths were designed to mirror the vocal's melody, with lush, layered chords and a slightly ethereal feel to create a sense of tension and release. We wanted the groove to feel unmistakably UKG, but with a melodic weight that hits deeper. This one came together quickly once the vocal locked in-it was the backbone, the heart, and everything else followed”.
