Oliver Heldens & Aevion Team Up for Sleek Summer Groover “Amnesia”
A fresh blend of garage rhythms, lush piano, and vocal hooks, just in time for the summer season.
Oliver Heldens returns to his Heldeep label with “Amnesia,” a new collaboration with UK producer Aevion that fuses crisp UK garage grooves with mellow house atmospheres. Originally sparked by a moody piano progression and an ear-catching vocal phrase, the record evolved through a year-long exchange between the two producers, culminating in a sleek, emotionally resonant track that feels tailor-made for both peak-time sets and introspective dancefloor moments.
Built around a hazy, looping hook - “baby, you give me a case of amnesia…” - the track brings emotional depth without losing sight of the dancefloor. Heldens and Aevion lock into a sound that’s both understated and infectious: punchy drums, rich chords, and clean production that speaks for itself.
“The moment I heard the combination of the organic, melancholic piano and the catchy, powerful vocal sample in a demo that my super talented friend Aevion sent me last year, I felt right away that this could become a special track,” Heldens says, “Working on the demo with Aevion was a lot of fun as we turned it into a modern Trance meets (Speed) Garage kind of tune while keeping it pretty timeless and somewhat mellow/atmospheric, not too big-room and ‘speedy’. We think it has the perfect balance, and even if it’s not a ‘crossover dance hit’, we believe it’s the kind of track we’ll still be very proud of in the far future.”
Aevion adds, “It was a demo I created a while back, it was part of a package of demos I sent over to Oliver and the heldeep team around May last year. Oliver liked the original "Amnesia" demo and decided to experiment with different layers, including the bass and drums. We have been back and forth with the record for over a year now, but I'm thrilled with the final result! Sounds huge.”
This release marks Aevion’s debut on the Heldeep main imprint, following his 2023 single “Jealous” on OH2. Known for his melodic sensibilities and genre-blending productions, “Amnesia” is a statement moment in Aevion’s catalog - and a clear nod to Heldens’ continued support for emerging artists through his label.
“Amnesia” arrives just as Heldens enters a packed summer season, with headline slots locked in across Tomorrowland, Creamfields, and Parookaville, plus Heldeep stages and takeovers across Ibiza, Mykonos, and Las Vegas. The track has already become a mainstay in his live sets - an earworm that works just as well at sunset as it does in peak-time festival moments.
