After her viral bootleg edit set Instagram and NYE dance floors ablaze, UK DJ/producer lau.ra has teamed up with American dance music icon CeCe Peniston herself to release an official 2025 rework of the unforgettable 1991 club classic "Finally" — out now via [PIAS] Électronique.
The remix began as a DIY edit for lau.ra’s Drumsheds set supporting Fatboy Slim, where it immediately lit up the crowd. After posting it online, the reel racked up over a million views — one of them from Peniston, who gave it her stamp of approval. A few DMs later, the pair made it official. Listen below.
"Ever since I made this reboot of CeCe Peniston’s ‘Finally’ for my Drumsheds set back in November, it has flown and never let me down in a set yet," lau.ra tells Beatportal. "It’s a dance floor rebooter. A secret weapon that every House DJ needs on their sticks this summer. Beatport is always my first port of call when I’m buying tunes so it made sense to land the extended mix of this with them exclusively.”
This punchy new version brings a fresh, floor-filling energy to the beloved classic, ready to dominate club sets all summer. It’s another win for lau.ra, whose momentum in 2025 includes festival slots, global gigs, and her London club night, Wonk, celebrating inclusive and high-energy club culture with zero ego and all vibe.
lau.ra and CeCe Peniston's "Finally" rework is out now via [PIAS] Électronique. Buy it on Beatport.
