GRAMMY®-nominated producer Mild Minds has announced the signing of emerging Finnish producer HUMS to his MOODS INTL. label, marking the imprint's first external artist acquisition. The partnership debuts with HUMS' ethereal single "Fractures," available now.

HUMS is the musical project of Helsinki-based producer Elias Durac, whose atmospheric electronica perfectly aligns with MOODS INTL.'s sonic vision. "Fractures" showcases Durac's distinctive production approach, layering organic textures over electronic foundations while incorporating voice recordings that add an intimate, confessional quality to the music.

"His sound felt like exactly what I was listening to, something that is hard to pigeonhole but carries influence from a range of genres from UK garage, darker electronica, to melancholy house," shares Benjamin David (Mild Minds). "His production was inspiring, and we can't wait to get more of his music out there over the next 6 months."

The 28-year-old Durac relocated to Helsinki from his native Turku and has maintained various musical projects including his indie alter-ego Fabianossa. What distinguishes HUMS is its genesis as emotional release – in 2022, while processing personal challenges, Durac composed a collection of tracks in just one week, resulting in music with rare spontaneity and emotional authenticity.

HUMS' production technique often incorporates vocals sampled from old phone recordings, creating intimate, confessional textures. While influences from artists like Caribou are evident, his sound emerges as distinctly personal expression born from inner necessity.

"Fractures is a song where I really concentrated on the drums," Durac explains. "I wanted something static and electronic like a drum machine layered with organic elements. The best thing to work with is the few things you have rather than getting overwhelmed with so many options."

MOODS INTL. launched following Benjamin David's tenure with ODESZA's Foreign Family Collective and the recent release of his sophomore album 'GEMINI.' The label aims to provide creative control for artists while benefiting from David's nearly two decades of industry experience.

"After finishing the new Mild Minds record, it felt like the right time to shift our energy toward the label," David shares. "We've got some incredible projects lined up – some debut acts, some familiar names. I'm constantly surprised at how many great artists are still flying under the radar."

"Fractures" serves as the first single in a planned series of releases from HUMS throughout 2025.
