Anticipation continues to build for Adam Beyer’s first album in over two decades, as he drops two standout tracks – Taking Back Control and Alto (a collaboration with Layton Giordani) – as the latest taste of his forthcoming LP Explorer Vol.1.

Following the release of the album’s title track in March, and the recent HNTR/Kygo-assisted cut ‘Hypnotic’, Beyer’s momentum has only accelerated.

Recent highlights include:

  • A sold-out 12,000-person Drumcode takeover at London’s Drumsheds (featuring Beyer b2b Vintage Culture)
  • A surprise pop-up at a London off-license
  • And billboards in Leicester Square and Stratford marking his takeover of Spotify’s Techno State playlist

On ‘Taking Back Control’, Beyer flexes a more experimental muscle, blending fierce techno with vocal elements that draw influence from both rap and pop – a nod to his boundary-pushing ethos.

Meanwhile, ‘Alto’ channels pure rave euphoria, showcasing the long-standing synergy between Beyer and Giordani, forged through countless studio and stage collaborations.

Creative link-ups between Beyer and Layton Giordani are always special.

From their memorable b2b’s at events like Awakenings, to studio sessions that highlight the release calendar, the duo share incredible artistic chemistry.

‘Alto’ is divine, rave-kissed techno, made for teary mornings.

“I sent Layton a lot of my sketches while on tour, and this one caught his attention. I laid down the melodies and core structure, then he brought ‘Alto’ to life with his signature drums and finishing touches.

We sampled an iconic vocal from the same source as The Orb’s Little Fluffy Clouds. It’s euphoric, emotional, and written in a major key – which is rare for me – and has become a set closer, especially in Ibiza.

Always goes off.”
