Carlita's mountaintop livestream set the tone for an unforgettable two-day celebration of music and community during Don Julio's 'Por Amor Weekender' event in Switzerland.
High above the clouds at 2,734 meters, Por Amor Weekender transformed the snowy peaks of Verbier, Switzerland into a breathtaking dance floor powered by music, mountain air, and Don Julio Palomas. Curated with care and intention, this intimate two-day event brought together rising talent, local heroes, and global names for a weekend that blended après-ski energy with pure creative celebration — all Por Amor, for love.
The weekend kicked off with a set from local Swiss talent And Hazel, setting the tone during the day, before the globally revered Turkish-Italian DJ/producer Carlita took center stage for stunning Beatport livestream on the terrace of Le Flocon, a cozy spot perched at the top of the ski lift, where skiers zoomed past as the music soared.
“It was magical,” Carlita said of the experience. “DJing while surrounded by mountains is surreal and really integrates nature as part of the set.” With around 50 lucky guests, the Alpine Sheek dress code, and excellent Don Julio cocktails flowing, the vibe was intimate, stylish, and unforgettable. As the sun started to set, the party descended into Verbier town for a special showcase at the warm and intimate venue Club Farinet South, featuring sets from local resident Jad Alexander (back from Beirut for his birthday set), another set from the amazing Carlita, and Dutch DJ/producer Maqossa, who closed out with high-energy house heat.
"Ski holidays and playing music are two of my favourite things, and when you combine these together, you have a recipe for an amazing weekend," said Maqossa. "On top of that, my favourite tequila brand (Don Julio) was hosting the weekend, so you can imagine how happy I was. Sharing the bill with Carlita, who is a great inspiration, was so much fun and a great honour. All in all just an unforgettable weekend in the Mountains of Verbier to remember: Por Amor!"
Night two brought the celebration to Le Rouge, with Paul Reynolds and masked house maestro Claptone taking the decks, wrapping the weekend with a dose of mystery and magic.
