A beloved figure within the Defected family, the Birmingham-born DJ and producer has headlined the label’s biggest stages—from flagship festivals to worldwide club nights. His catalogue is filled with fan-favorite cuts like “This Is The Sound” (DFTD) and “Bullerengue” with Crusy, which have enjoyed widespread club and radio support.

For this latest outing, Low Steppa teams up with Capri, a breakout name whose music has been championed by tastemakers such as Mark Knight, Sam Divine, Darius Syrossian, and Dombresky. Their collaboration was sparked after Capri delivered a standout remix of Low Steppa’s track “The Feeling” on his Simma Black imprint—catching the veteran producer’s attention and laying the groundwork for this new studio venture.

“Got The Funk” is a hypnotic, groove-driven house track packed with funk-fuelled basslines, sharp vocal chops, and high-octane energy. Already gaining early spins from Barry Can’t Swim, Eats Everything, and Danny Howard, it’s poised to become a summer staple in clubs and festival sets across the globe.
