With “Better”, German producer Vahr unveils his second official release — a delicate blend of melodic house and heartfelt emotion.
Built around improvised piano chords and rich synth layers, the track is a reflection of the people who bring him strength and make him feel at home.
"When producing it, I often thought of people who mean a lot to me," Vahr shares. "I think these feelings of security, hope, and warmth are also reflected in the music."
This intimacy translates through deep reverb, atmospheric textures, and a soft, dreamy groove.
The piano—processed using the Noire library—and melodic synths (from Diva) are supported by ethereal effects courtesy of Valhalla and Soundtoys plugins, creating a lush and enveloping sonic palette. A standout moment appears in the breakdown, where a new vocal sample and synth lead emerge, giving the track a deeper emotional charge.
The vocal line—“I feel better when it’s you. Oh, this feeling must be cupid.”—is simple but powerful, echoing the core message of connection and love.
Vahr admits the track’s final form took time and reflection: “After a few weeks’ break, I returned with fresh ears. That helped me bring the drop and breakdown to life.”
