Five artists who have inspired Juush’s musical and artistic journey
He talks about how Kyle Watson, Fisher & Chris Lake inspired his productions

A few weeks ago, the high-energy tech-house track "Losing My Head" by Black V Neck, GAWP, & Juush featuring Gaby G, released on Heldeep Records. Following our recent interview with Black V Neck & GAWP, we’re now turning the spotlight on Juush. He took the time to answer questions about 5 artists that influenced his musical & artistic vision.
Bleu Clair – one of his earliest tech house tracks "Do My Thing" was a track that had a heavy influence on the house sound I wanted to create and me becoming a long time fan of his. Bleu is known for his super swung basslines and groovy drums that are really infectious on the dancefloor. In addition, he always uses really unique chord stabs and samples that set the stage for him starting the New Age House sound. I really look to incorporate some of those elements into my tracks while combining them with my own sound design to create the Juush sound.
Kyle Watson – I remember my friend recommending me to watch one of Kyle's live sets back during COVID. I had never heard of him or his music. After the first few tracks of his in the set, I was hooked. Kyle is a mastermind at being extremely intentional with his tracks in regards to his sample selection and sound design. When you break down his tracks, there aren't really too many elements in them which is something I look to incorporate into my own productions—not to overproduce and make the few sounds really stand out. I also really draw on his bass and sound design in my own production to bring a little bit of heavier sounds into the tech house sound.
Fisher – as many of us know, Fisher is one of the greats. Being a long-time fan of his, I really aspire to share the energy and stage presence that he has with his fans. He has a genuineness about him that so many people connect with and is true to him. I always think about how I want to receive the same energy I am putting into the world. During my sets, I'm always dancing and vibing with the crowd just as I would want them to vibe with me. Also, Fisher's early tracks like Ya Kidding and Stop It are big influences for me—extremely drum- and groove-heavy tracks that the bassline drives you through the whole record.
Chris Lake – Chris Lake is one of the greatest to ever do it in my opinion. I remember listening to him before he was more in the tech house realm when he was releasing tracks like Boneless. Still a huge fan of him today, he always has really unique arrangements that work both well in live settings and streaming. I always love to learn from his new tracks and seeing what I can do to my own productions to freshen them up for live settings as well. He also uses a lot of old analog synths and plug-ins which I love as well. Analog Labs is big for me and that's where the classic house sounds of my productions come from.
OOTORO – known for his heavier production and sound design, I really love to bring some more bass house and bass music influence into my tracks drawing inspiration from him. Growing up listening to bass music in high school, that side of music has always been a part of me and it's something that I like to sprinkle into my tracks still today. I love being in between tech house and bass house as it allows me to blend both worlds. Seeing as he is close friends with Bleu Clair as well, his first house tracks like All I Need and Beat Like This bring that New Age House sound back into the foreground.
