There are few Ibiza residencies as culturally resonant - or musically distinctive - as Black Coffee’s flagship Saturdays at Hï Ibiza. On May 17th, the South African trailblazer returns to the island’s most technologically advanced club for the Opening Party of what promises to be his most immersive season yet.

Since becoming Hï’s original resident in 2017, Black Coffee has sculpted the sound of Ibiza Saturdays, fusing Afropolitan house, deep rhythmic structures, and cinematic atmospheres into a signature that now defines a generation of global club music. With Afro house having evolved from niche to necessary over the last decade, Black Coffee stands not just as a pioneer but as a perennial force - one who continues to shape the scene on his own terms.

Expect meticulous curation and effortlessly fluid sets, where percussive roots meet polished, international house motifs. His performances at The Theatre are less about peak-time bombast and more about slow-building hypnotism - music that doesn't just move the crowd, but envelops it.

While The Theatre is set for expansive Afro-inflected house, the Club Room offers a deeper, more esoteric contrast. Damian Lazarus, fresh off a celebrated run with Day Zero and the release of his latest LP, Magickal, will transform the space into a realm of ritualistic techno, leftfield grooves, and mysticism-tinged minimalism.

Lazarus has long operated on the fringes of house and techno, preferring the surreal and spiritual over the formulaic. With his Crosstown Rebels imprint, he’s become a tastemaker for the weird and wonderful - championing artists who push boundaries both sonically and visually.

As the 2025 season begins, Hï Ibiza again sets the bar - not just for production or prestige, but for the kind of forward-thinking programming that respects dance music’s roots while pushing it boldly into the future.
